    You are not thinking critically here , max baer dips inside and loops the right hand OVER THE JAB ! you can straight right to the heart but its nigh impossible to land that on the face, you are judging fighters through a modern lens. Back then jabs were drawn and the right hand was looped over those jabs ,you are not gonna loop over a jab PUNCHING STRAIGHT come on man!

    Late in his career, Max Baer suddenly realized that he was not indestructible any more, and that he had to learn some sort of defense.

    He did it fairly well to be fair to him.

    Like Mike Tyson, he was old too soon, wise too late!

    WTF? Tyson`s defense was superb when with Rooney, it went into decline after Rooney was fired, Tyson was the best fighter in history at slipping the jab and countering, that`s how he destroyed Golota, Baer had nowhere near the skill level of a prime Tyson.
