As pathetic as it is they feel like they have to have a woman and Woods is by far the best you’re going to get. She is a good presenter, far bette than Woolhouse and maybe even Abdo who did it for a bit and she was decent. Jama’s job isn’t needed for a start. She’s also a terrible presenter. She was good on the radio though. NO RING GIRLS. My connection is very fast (Over 100mbps). My TV is about 5 years old so that could be the problem but it runs Netflix, Prime, etc perfectly fine.
I'm assuming the young blonde lady is Laura woods,as that is a name I'm reading quite often in this thread. I did like her she was quite refreshing altho last night she reminded me of a working girl on her night off, she had that kind of buzz to her personality.
Thought it was a good start for a first show. first thing I thought was Laura Woods and Maya Jama should swap roles. Woods clearly has more knowledge and f boxing and sports broadcast experience. She could have atleast held a conversation with Bellew and gave something back to him. Jama although brings eyeballs and is great to have for exposure. She should have been on the interviewing gig. As she clearly had done next to no research on the fighters she was discussing. So doing an interviewing. Saying what was your opinion of the fight? Eddie do you have an announcement to tell us etc takes no knowledge and hides this a bit better. Only other change would be someone else on with Bellew as an analyst maybe giving a bit of back and forth. I thought maybe Bellew and hay would have been fun
Good night of boxing- 2-3 good fights in particular which I enjoyed a lot. No real issues with the stream for me. Obviously it's their debut so I am willing to cut them some slack. There was more good than bad for sure. Fight camp is also only temporary it's just 2 more weeks so it's not really a format we will see again post pandemic. Maya Jama was very much the weakest link. Makes me wonder don't they have a casting and/or auditions for these roles? She's gorgeous but her presenting was awful and amateurish. Her and Bellew also have zero chemistry and listening to him explaining things to her was at times like a father talking to his 6 year old. Their awkward exchanges really stood out, hope it improves or Maya is replaced by Laura if it does not get better in the coming weeks. I thought Laura Woods was excellent. She's a natural, and clearly a talented sports journalist. I do generally find Tony 'wife and kids' Bellew very irritating and unlikeable (who doesn't!), but I know he's not going anywhere so we just have to put up with him...
Maya Jama like everyone says was insufferable. Laura Woods. She wants to be taken seriously but she dresses up like a hooker. Bellew had to be sensible last night in front of the insanely stupid and childish Maya Jama. Chris Lloyd is up his own arse far too much to be impartial. Go through his twitter and you'll see what I mean. He's a prat. It will improve in production and presentation as time goes on. If they sort out the above presenters, they'll go from strength to strength.
Not just even Frampton mate. He's made not so subtle digs at Tyson Fury in the last year or so and tended to lick the balls of AJ and Eddie. I get it. They pay his bills but atleast show some impartiality. It's surprising that more people haven't picked up on this.
Got to admit I like the sound of and look of Woodsy - she appears to be there on merit/looks while surrounded by a sea of Eh Day's chosen few.
I'm not sure that Lee is even better than Froch on co-coms. Froch may not be a student of the game but he knows about the science of the sport. Lee was lousy on Saturday and made Barker look like Al Bernstein. Hopefully he'll improve as the weeks go by but it was an horrendous start.
Not sure if anyone has seen beyond the bell after the fights on DAZN it’s Laura Woods and Andy Lee wrapping up and the coverage is 10 times better than Jama and Bellew. Woods asks questions that engages Lee and he doesn’t mince his words. I think them two with Bellew would be a good mix and put someone else on coming comms with Lloyd and costello
I do prefer Lee in an analyst role rather than comms tbf. He should be added to the presenting desk because just one analyst and a presenter doesn’t work if said presenter knows nothing about boxing. Woods, Bellew (we’re not getting rid of him) and Lee would be much better than Maya Jama and Bellew.
