Maybe because I've always been a fan of Ingle gym fighters, I've got a bit of a soft spot for Kid Galahad, even though I get the general feeling on here that he's not well liked by many. I think he's skilled, dedicated and has got something about him that makes me want to root for him. I wanted him to beat Warrington and I want him to beat Dickens. Which fighters do you like that you believe to be more generally disliked among boxing fans and why?
In Jin Chi, tough as nails and been in some real entertaining fights but not really a fighter you see anyone talking about. Michael Brodie, when everyone was high on Spencer Oliver in the UK, I was more impressed by Brodie. Was gutted when Jorrin got that awful decision against him. Chisora. Sure now he's gained a lot more respect for all the entertaining fights over his career but I've followed him since the first Fury fight when most people probably wrote him off. I must admit I overrated him after the Helenius and Vitali fights but by then I was a real fan of his and I guess biased if I'm honest.
Hughie Fury Povetkin, Parker, Pulev yet didn't look too bad against them especially Povetkin. Even with his poor offensive output. I like him. AJ gets stroked and sucked off for beating these old men whilst in prime peak roid condition. Hughie gets mocked.
Spencer Oliver completely passed me by. Don't recall ever having seen one of his fights. I was high on Benn, Naz etc in the mid nineties but somehow I never watched Oliver.
I l like Ioka a lot too, I felt he was given the short end of the stick against Donny Nietes in a close fight for which the scorecards were atrocious, there was a 118-110 iirc. His fight against Kosei Tanaka was a fooking banger .
I'm suprised there was so much buzz around him back then hadn't even won a world title and you had British celebs like Sean Bean showing up at his fights and people hyping him a a future champ.
Humberto Soto A three-division world champion and a very good technical boxer. A Mexican too. Somehow I think he is unpopular, not sure why...
My favorite boxer right now is Jared Anderson but he's not really disliked. I like Teofimo lopez and think he gets way too much hate. He's somewhat disliked on this forum for some reason. Provided he beats Lomachenko a second time they'll do the usual weight bully excuses and claim Lomachenko is past his prime
The Charlos, Andrade, Tank.................the vast majority of everybody on here hates them. I could care less though
Chisora has never beaten anybody decent in his entire career, in the context of becoming a pay-per-view (what a joke) boxer. Price, Takam, Sexton... He's also an odious character, and is lucky to have had Hearn and Haye as his mouthpiece.
And? This is a thread about boxers who are generally disliked. You've just supported my view, thanks, I guess.
