ROBERTO DURAN 1 wife gave all his money to the poor. The DeJesus thing. Everyones best friend. True national hero. No drugs or drinking scandles. Hero.HERO
i agree, if you´re referring strictly to his first career. after his exile, he reconsidered, softened and changed his opionions more and more (and so did the general public in their opinion about him). you must be stuck in 1967.
Everyone brings their own moral judgements to a thread like this so what one person finds either reprehensible or a sign of good character can be disparaged by another. Look at Muhammad Ali as an example of this. Hoping for heroes of the ring to be flawless outside it is a bit optimistic, particularly when considering the sport they are involved in. And everyone makes mistakes.
While it is true that everybody makes mistakes, some people never learn from them, continually making the same ones. Mistakes are a part of learning, a learning tool. Like when a fighter loses a bout for the first time, rather than making excuses and whining, he will go back to the drawing board, look at film to correct his mistakes.. Life itself is like that, you grow.
