Yeah, Plant is a real genius. I'm sure you're right. Canelo is fighting Bivol next. Who is the "super wise" Plant fighting next? Who are his top contenders? What other champs can he unify with? Joe Smith is apparently fighting Jacobs next. Bivol vs. Canelo. Who is left for Plant? Beterbiev? (LOL) Maybe Andrade can move up and Plant vs. Andrade can become the most boring title fight in history after Byrd-Williamson? Sounds good. Pencil it in. Oh wait, Andrade is on DAZN. Forget that, too.
Also, no one is in a bidding war for Caleb Plant's services. The PBC has overpaid some in the past. And they have moved on from some of them. If the PBC decides the Canelo fight is never happening, they could easily tell Plant for the next No-Name he fights, there is only $175,000 in the pot for him. What's he going to do? Demand more? From whom?
Ahh you've missed the update, that was also in the last 15 pages. Plant didn't pull out of the fight. He agreed to everything.
Plant's side didn't agree to everything. I think you missed that, or you're just choosing to ignore it. That's why Plant and his side are standing on the curb ... going "They'll come back later. You'll see" ... while Canelo makes an even bigger fight with Bivol, and Plant is left with squat. Good thing Plant retained "control" of his career. Bring on Yerbossynuly!!!!
Just to clarify on the post of mine you included (post # 6), I was repeating what Plant had said that he would have to wait on Canelo if Canelo was hurt or ill, while Canelo would get a replacement if Plant was hurt or sick. However, my understanding is that Plant still agreed to the contract anyways. It was PBC/Haymon that couldn’t come to terms with Canelo’s team after Plant had already agreed to his end of the deal. I should have been more clear in my original post.
Yeah it was a rumour he'd pulled out, but he didn't. https://www.espn.co.uk/boxing/story...b-plant-boxing-fight-talks-broken-sources-say
Clenelo will be far ahead of Bivol in training camp. He's been actively training for a fight. Bivol maybe has been in the gym like most disciplined fighters are. No way about it, Clenelo is ahead in the schedule. Keep in mind Bivol has to drop down to 168, too. Which will be a rushed process.
