There might have been one of these before but as we've not seen our "fighting man" World Champion, Lineal Champion fight since the beginning of 2020, which seems like an eternity now, I was thinking about some of the big talkers and "legends", that are fast becoming myths as stories get twisted and filled with as many roids as some of these guys were on, it got my imagination running a bit wild. John "Gypsy" Fury Lenny " The Guvnor" McLean Roy "Pretty Boy" Shaw Paul "Sykesy" Sykes Lee "The Duffer" Duffy Viv Graham Manny Burgo Vic Dark I put Dark in for a laugh, the man is an idiot, he's a wildcard entry. Of all of them only "Sykesy" and Burgo I can tolerate footage and stories of. Anyway, here we go..... Duffy vs Graham McLean vs Burgo Winners fight each other Fury vs Sykes Dark vs Shaw Winners fight each other Then onto the final, who would you back to win this? My money is on Sykes, I think he'd absolutely batter any of them.
Money also on sykes...although with the stories about lee duffy...he could be a decent underdog. Pretty sure viv graham was a pretty good boxer at one point as well. Depend if it was boxing or fighting. Lenny mclean wasnt exactly a joke eiyher.
Ha ha, these pumps have been everywhere. I'm the only man who's swam the straits of Zohor! I know how to deal with Sharks, you punch them right in the fookin earhole and they swim off.
He doesn't read the Sun or the Daily Mirror, he goes and has a look. Graham had an alleged amateur record of 27-3, one of those defeats coming against Burgo. Duffy never fought amateur or pro and was apparently messy, I still have a feeling that Duffy would dig deep and use his height and reach to his advantage. Burgo would box clever and beat McLean via late stoppage, he'd be elusive. McLean lost 5 out of 15 unlicensed, in a boxing ring with proper rules he gets done. I'd back Burgo to beat Duffy in the Semi, the boxer beats the puncher in this case, Duffy's massive head would prove too easy to hit. Sykes would batter Fury in the streets, in the ring and in the sea, the fitter man, he'd be relentless. After a messy start Shaw would destroy Dark although he'd narrowly avoid disqualification. Sykes puts him to sleep in the first round. Onto the final and Burgo would take Sykes into the trenches but it would be water off a ducks back for a man that knows how to condition sharks, late stoppage for the big man and a flight to Moscow for his breakfast before a quick return to Wood Street nick for tea, he's been about has our Sykesy.
I think it's hard to see past a Sykes win in this, the best boxer in that group and probably the hardest too, it's all very well looking hard in the street in uneven contests but when these hardmen take it into the ring against someone who is a trained fighter it doesn't always pan out how they thought it would. Should have added Brian Sutherland to this list, never lost a fight in the street......
Dave knuckle duster Courtney would have the lot of them. There's a reason the krays trusted him with heading security at the funeral. And it wasn't sexual, because he was packing a legit 2 incher.
Sykes slaps him around the face tells him to glove up before having the boiled egg on toast like he did his Breakfast in the Russian capital. Courtney can talk the talk but he tells porkies, he stretches the truth, something Sykes could never be accused of.
I put Burgo in with McLean, Sykes was in the group with Fury (his first fight), Dark and Shaw. You're right though, Sykes would absolutely batter the cumbersome McLean, it's all very well having fast hands for a few seconds when you're in front of the camera but it's another in the ring with Sykes for 3 minutes at a time, he'd get absolutely taken to the cleaners.
