I actually rate the guy as a boxing pundit. Never been put off by how he looks or how he speaks, I prefer to focus on what he says, and based on his knowledge of boxing he clearly knows what he’s talking about, has been around the game for decades, and comes across as a true fan of the sport. I’ve no idea on women’s boxing but given it’s in its infancy you could compare any woman boxer to Muhammad Ali and almost get away with it. Real talk.

I've got to say that I'm with you on this although I still think the Ali comparison is a joke and Bridges does not deserve to be compared to such a figure in the sport, she's a Maths teacher ex bodybuilder quite simply playing boxing, she's not doing anything positive for the sport, especially losing to the Matchroom brat.

You lads are listening to the clip all wrong. He is, imo, comparing both fighters, albeit it from different angles (Ali's gift of the gab, Bridges attire), outside of the ring actions. Both are unique in each aspect. Of course their boxing levels are totally poles apart, anyone would be rather silly to suggest otherwise and Gareth isn't that stupid to do so.
I did get that from it but I also don't see the Ali link, Ali could talk the talk, walk the walk, he had great charisma, he'd light up a room, he dressed like a star etc. Bridges just turns up in lingerie that every girl wears and when she's not doing that she's just wearing what every other Insta Fitness model/wannabe model wears, doing all of this while having no great back story like Ali's, no talk like Ali's and fighting nobodies and losing in a title fight that neither her or her opponent deserved to be in. It's a stupid comparison, an unnecessary comparison and it's just Gareth getting caught up and carried away in the moment like he has done so many times in the past. I don't mind Davies if I'm honest and I like that he can lose himself in the moment but this, for me, is just silly. None of that was a dig at you by the way, I hope you're loving life, up the Lilywhites and fingers crossed for your boy Fitzy!
The man is a joke when it comes to his combat sport analysis. You have to give him credit though, he knew that an English accent goes a long way in the States and has had a million times more success over there than his talent deserves. A couple of years ago he posted a ridiculous photo of him at a Bellator event, with his bad hair, glasses, clothes, cross around his bare chest etc. I came out with a pretty funny put down and to give credit to the guy, instead of firing back he retweeted it, so he’s got a sense of humour about himself.
Remember when Deontay Wilder tried to intimidate Gareth Davies and Davies wasn't flustered. Ever since then I've respected him as a boxing journalist.

Have to say the levels of noncing around her, from fighters and pundits is genuinely horrific. She is a very good self publicist but it is hard to think she is what womens boxing needs. In many ways.
