Jalolov looked razor sharp as usual, kudos to Torrez for his strong effort. I'm totally bushed now as I'm after pulling an all nighter. It's 8 in the morning now so more than 24 hours awake haha.

Props to Torrez really showed up and gave it his all and gave a good account of himself.

I enjoyed the Davis/Cruz bout, both very skillful guys, Cruz's reach and movement gave him that slight edge.

Good to see Price pick up Gold for GB, totally dominated the final. Was funny to see how small she was compared to everyone on the podium she looked like she belonged 2 divisions below.

Enjoyed the Olympics boxing competition. Andy Cruz won the lightweight final with Davis and Cuba were best nation once again. That was a good effort by Torrez at +91kg, a clear final win for Price of GBR and a well-deserved gold medal win for Harrington and Ireland.

Very proud of our British boxing team.

Finished second in the boxing medal table behind Cuba.

Yeah unreal and Ireland finished 7th not bad for a country of 6 million, and thats despite the fact the Irish boxing programme has lost a good bit of funding in recent years.

Och, the lasses get headgear? Well, two steps forward and what all (they get three minute rounds instead of two in the Olympics, but 2" and no headgear in the pros :nusenuse:)

Harrington's ambush looping right (or right hook, depending on stance as she is regularly switching) off the hip after backing nearly all the way into the ropes to lure Ferreira and then springing out punching in midair was the best quality stuff of the opener. Some hefty left hooks from the Brazilian driving through, however.

    10-9 KAH, close

Kellie wheezing but she is just about controlling the action by keeping things mostly at long-range and changing up between orthodox and southpaw to give herself more room and leverage to counter Ferreira coming in. Ferreira bulls in, eating jabs willingly to get in and clatter her fists against the side of Harrington's gear, spinning it around obscuring her face. Harrington keeps having every few seconds now to raise a glove to adjust it, as she has needed to during any moments of downtime since the contest began.

    10-9 KAH, 20-18 KAH

Fair bit of wrestling in the third. The petite ref, also female (she'd be like...atomweight, maybe?) seems in no hurry to get between them, standing off a few paces meekly ordering breaks through her mask over the din of the crowd and corners with her arms by her sides.

Ferreira bringing effort roughing the Irishwoman up, lots of shoving and stiff-arming, dirty infighting etc.

Closest and ugliest round. I'll say Ferreira since it was more her wheelhouse and made Harrington pretty uncomfortable, and there wasn't much connected neatly to pick from.
