Liam Smith vs Anthony Fowler on Saturday October 9th in Liverpool

Head to Head was interesting. Fowler looked intimidated, was not enjoying it in the slightest.

 

Just watched the press conference and the face off.

Liam Smith is trying his level best to come across like a complete nob whilst Fowler comes off looking like the good guy.

Hope Liam's arrogance isn't misplaced and he can actually get the job done

I don’t get the hate for Fowler , Liam Smith comes across as a complete bellend in the media today .

He did come across like a bellend but maybe Fowler needs this humbling..

 

Fowler will do well in the opening 3 rounds and then Smith will dominate the middle-rounds. Smith will win a wide 117-111 type decision, after his last performance against Kurbanov I think he has too much left to beat Fowler.

I don't like making comparisons but two years Smith annihilated Eggington, who was in a close fight with Cheeseman, who arguably beat Fitzgerald, who beat Fowler.

Fowler hasn't even gone 12 rounds before.

 

I see they've added Shannon Courtenay to the card.

Better not put her in front of Cheeseman/Williamson or Conway/Metcalf. Stick her on at 6pm.

 

I do think Fowler is live early and will put up a much better show than Eggington did v Smith, as his fundamentals are much better. I feel Smith will win, as like most on here I think he will take over in 2nd half of fight. Fowler has to really hurt or stop Smith early or it will be a long painful night imo.

 

She was sure she was on the AJ card, even rolling out the '2 people from Watford fighting for world titles on the same show' line. A nice Facebook live slot instead hopefully.

 

Hoping for a comprehensive Smith win, and can't see how Fowler wins this. Smith is levels above him.
Hopefully after Fowler gets leathered he dials down on the cringe a bit.

Yeah I agree, I feel like a lot of people are underestimating Fowler, he has made some good improvements under Shane McGuigan. There is no shame in losing to a fighter like Liam Smith though who has competed at the highest level.

 

If Liam Smith is smart, he would let Fowler do the majority of the talking and let fans see themselves what he's really like.

All Liam has done though is kinda make a rod for his own back a la David Haye v Tony Bellew and we all know how that turned out.

I want Liam to win but he should understand fights aren't won on paper and I don't want to see another repeat of Haye v Bellew. No one does.
