Nature & nurture + a million other things. Modern Everest expeditions wouldn't be possible without the Tibetan sherpa's. Adapted for life at high altitude. High altitude training is still a thing of great debate. Many athletes have tried it and found it didn't do them any good, actually harm which is down to many many factors. Fury's first altitude camp had to be abandoned.
Good question. Didnt get passed the right set of genes? Remember not all of your parents genes get passed to you, only half. Its why you and your brother look different. Also perhaps there are some dominant/recessive characteristics?
He doesn't look much like he came from the ethnic group they're talking about. I assume a lot of his ancestry is European.
Right, I actually am not the biggest fan of altitude training either, but its an interesting thought that those who live in Tibet are less susceptible to hypoxia?
Have to be less susceptible. Classic survival of the fittest. You see it with eskimo's and many other peoples. They are built to survive in the climates they live in. Although many of these people's will cease to exist. Native inuits are almost all but gone, at least not in the environment they were built to live in. We can see the negative effects of not living how we are designed also. Western diets is soft mushy sugar crap and we see the effect on our dental health. Most kids need braces these days.
