Joe Frazier is one of my favourite fighters. But he wasn’t more skilful than Joe Louis.

George Foreman also wasn’t as skilled as Joe Louis.

It’s obvious to me and everyone else that you don’t know anything about the guy’s career.

You are simply dismissing him because of your ignorance.

Tell us how he was limited.

Give us a breakdown of these limitations.

Everyone who’s respected within the sport all have Joe Louis as a top 10 ATG HW.

Obviously you know different.

 

So all the ko's by fighters like R, Leonard, Camacho, Hearns, Mosley, Whitaker, Robinson, M. Taylor, J.Louis, Pac, Tyson, Ali, Jones Jr, Curry, Deloyhoa, J.Brown, Duran, Benitez, Laguna, and many more fighters noted for their hand speed by 1000s of coaches, tv announcers, referee's ,boxing historians , and fans that have studied the sport and involved in it for more than a quarter century ( Like myself) We don't have a clue because according to you fast hands isn't a advantage? And fast hands is only used to "set up" . Also literally 1000's of pro fighters stopped by opponents that were faster than they were means they were what? Not skilled enough? Not tough enough? Because according to you fast hands isn't important, so it shouldn't have been an advantage. So they shouldn't have gotten ko'ed right?

notice this post ,Sinister says exactly how Broner got the Ko and the announcers chalked it up to fast hands. That is in essence what I am talking about . Announcers do not know any better and just think a hit landed because of fast hands . Punches are landed based on how well you get the other guy outtta position.

 

what exactly did frazier do b etter than joe louis ,who were these guys joe had trouble with , lets deep dive into things , instead of make espn style stephen a smith analysis !

 

well head and feet movement and was tougher for taking damage from skilled hws

all of the dudes he fought he should have been able to lay them down cause of the super bad skill level put George ron gerry there they destroy those dudes quick

you are judging joe louis by a modern lens, as I already knew before you typed your rebuttal, it is the same **** with you guys . It is punching form , using high guards and head movement or what not . Head movement is one way of defending punches and here is the thing , Joe used head movement but he combined it with Punches ,he was better at head movement than Foreman and frazier etc. It is hard for you to see because you are used to the modern guys who move their head without punches then punch after they are giving a turn. In Joes era they didnt give turns you had to take it , that is how all his matches went. Joe also caught jabs he didnt have to head move he can reach out and parry them (and punch at the same time) thus taking his turn back from his opponent, Joe was much better on the inside and Joe drew counters but walking forward forcing you to throw and him defending that shot and firing back, he was a MUCH BETTER WALK forward pressure fighter than any one heavyweight boxer since his time, Please watch boxing slowly and learn the nuances before you type nonsense!

 

Also pay attention to where joes hands end up on the infighting he usually had them inside of his opponents arms giving him options with both arms on the infighting a modern guy would bring their hands back to their head . Boxing is all subtle nuances its like jazz it won't make sense if you do not know what to look for!

Louis appears to have better defense than many 1970s heavyweights on film. Frazier, Foreman were not difficult to hit.
