I'm not saying that Casimero is better than Lomachenko in any way, shape, or form — because he isn't — but Rigondeaux didn't run from Lomachenko. However, Rigondeaux was in all out survival mode against Casimero.

He didn't even try to run from Lomachenko. He stayed in front of Lomachenko for most of the fight, in fact.

Why do you guys think he ran from Casimero?

Difference in tactical choice probably due to punching power. He knew to get away from Casimeros lunge and thought maybe he could parry and time Lomo in the pocket (I personally would've advised him to cover the ring moving with Lomo too but am just an armchair quarterback). Maybe some injury or lesser physical conditioning in camps. Either way, when they fought, Lomo blew him away whereas the fight with Casimero should have been a Draw from the sounds of things. 3 weight classes and several years apart, but still that's what happened.

I just thought it was weird. Casimero is a caveman/slightly awkward slugger with overrated power. I think Rigo would KO him in a slugfest.

I agree with you. Fought the wrong basic gameplan in both those losses. If swapped, we get way better fights as viewers obviously and easy to say now but I do think Rigo does better (not saying he wins a round with Lomo but maybe pops a couple lefts in).

Because Loma is better at cutting off the ring and landing shots. Rigo had to stand and try to score.

Going by those highlights (didn’t watch the fight) Rigo landed some good punches.

He wouldn't have been able to run from Loma, he would have been found.

He should have fought Casimero the way he fought Loma. He could have won, perhaps easily.

Loma was jut playing with him and he hadn't even started to go through the gears at that point, let alone entered Matrix Mode which he typically does in the early stages of the second half of the fight. For all his undoubted skill and wizardry, for all the years he spent coming up through the Cuban amateur system and campaigning at the elite level in the ams, he had never seen or encountered anything like Loma before and he simply had no answer on how to deal with him. He barely landed glove on Loma and that was something that no one, like not a single soul no one, was expecting. Loma Rigo'd Rigo and he did it on the front foot, not even punching anywhere near full power, and without even moving out of first gear.

Why did you photoshop Errol Spence with your lips, though?

I really believe he got clipped with something and he didn't like it so he started running.
Rigo fans always have an excuse.
At least Casmiero was trying to make it a fight and he is the champion.
Rigo went into prevent in round TWO.

He didn't exactly run, but it's a display of performance gone wrong for him. He didn't adapt to his opponent's style. Didn't utilize his strengths (quick counter and accuracy, etc.) It's like his battle-hardened long years of experience is no show.

I suspect it's probably due to inactivity. But really, it's disappointing. Should he performed little much better, he would definitely beat Casimero.

Because Casimero would have knocked him the F out. Casimero power is not overrated. He has injured mitt holders arms that's why they use those squigly foam things instead of mitts. Rigo don't want none of that pinoy powa!!

This is why boxing records and undefeated records are a bunch of bull feces. Had that fight taken place in Cuba, Rigo would have won a clear UD.

Floyd ran for his life in many fights, but he never had to worry about the judges scoring against him.

    It’s so arbitrary.
