I agree. It's the same flaw Ali had. Both Duran and Ali were the best fighters I've ever seen on TV. But they had a habit of sometimes not showing up in the ring in shape. Which affected their performances. But when they were motivated and taking it seriously they were the best two fighters I've ever seen.

 

Sorry! I just listed many fighters in the top 10 and outside of it that are greater. top 20 at best top 20-25 for me. ring magazine top 20 fighters since ww2 Pac wasn't even ranked in the top 20. You can't jump from unranked into the top 10 when you've lost to PBF Horn and only beaten Thurman since it doesn't work like that and BTW PBF was 12th on that list.

 

I don't think Pac is a top 10 ATG but he borders in the top 20 to 15 range. Beating Ugas won't really add too much to his legacy, but another solid win against someone like Spence or Crawford would make him a top 10, possibly top 5. Boxing is a rich history that has lasted 2 centuries and in those 2 centuries Pac has done things no man has ever, or probably will never do again. He's a bonafide legend already, closing in on iconic status.

I honestly think Pac can beat GGG at a catchweight of lets say 157. Even 160 would be competitive, GGG is low and got roughed up by Derevyanchenko, Pac might be back on the same roids Mike Tyson took for his exhibition bout.

I don't really like pac but with his unbelievable accomplishments in the ring it is undeniable and so many boxing legends are calling him the GOAT so i would say he's TOP 3 at the very least....

 

Stop it, I'm telling you man. These roids/supplements they have going on nowadays are insane. I've seen a senior citizen like Mike Tyson able to regain some of his former form from 30 years ago taking the finest PED's in circulation right now. I remember a certain Haitian Canadian telling Hopkins to "take zee test" despite being on every steroid known to man because he knew from a personal source what Hopkins was taking.. and Pascal was only caught just recently, it all depends on the cycle. That's why high profile fighters fight 1 to 3 times a year at most to recycle the peds out of their system. Floyd did it, Canelo is doing it and so has Pac and 90% of fighters out here.

Some higher profile fighters though have access to some of the finest PED's the world has ever seen. Pac has been out of the ring for more than a year and a half, the mans cycle is complete and he's ready to perform at optimum level like he was in the Thurman fight.

Other than that though, I agree that Ugas is a good win, a great win under Pac's circumstances. But it doesn't shoot him up to the top 10 ATG rankings, he needs another signature, legendary win like a Spence or Crawford or even GGG.

I think Pac has a chance beating this version of GGG at 157. GGG has still never recovered from the beating he got in the 2nd Canelo fight, the man hasn't looked the same. I've seen lesser fighters than Jeff Horn put hands on post Canelo GGG. Pac would turn back the clock and pull a Margarito on this version of GGG, I honestly think that.

 

You cannot isolate Pacquiao in the goat conversation. The greatness of a fighter does not only limit to the quality of his oppositions. We need to look the overall resume. Paquiao's resume goes beyond to any boxer your regarded as top 1 - 15 ATG
Do we really need to showcase Pacquiao's achievement why he is above them?

- He is the only one one who won 12 major titles 8 divisions. no one has ever done it yet only Pac.
- he has become the top dog in 5 different division when he defeated 5 lineal champion. No one has ever done it only Pac.
- he is the only four decades champ
-he is the only 4th time welter champ and the oldest welterweight champ.

 

He's nowhere near either.
