The aging welterweights have finally agreed to battle, after over a decade trading nothing but insults, with an eye on a December cash-out clash in Saudi Arabia. It's basically down to who is the least shot. I expect Khan to win by stoppage, especially if Brook insists on once again dragging himself down to 147 for a bumper payday.
That Sun story is super weird. Usually it's so obvious when a story is just copy pasted from a credible source, but this one is difficult. It's possible they have a source inside one of the camps who has broken info to them. It's weird it isn't labelled as "Exclusive" though, which is surely would if they had rare info. Alternatively, it's completely possible that the 'reporter' has just watched an IFL TV interview, then just thrown in Saudi, DAZN v Sky coincidentally to flesh out a non-story. For me - with zero inside knowledge - I don't trust that story at all. (But if for some reason Saudi wanted it, be no doubt that Khan, Brook, and Hearn would all go there in a heartbeat)
I think greed and ego, mainly on Khan’s side will mean that if Sky want it for PPV, they will most likely get it. I certainly won’t be paying for it, but we will all be watching and I think they will comfortably get at least 500k + to press the box office button.
This will be about as interesting as the RJJ v Tyson or Haye vs Fournier bouts. Just an exhibition bout between two essentially retired fighters.
If this is available to DAZN UK subscribers I will be cancelling. It'll be a tenner a month by then, that's half a PPV , this isn't worth that .
