Incredible. I initially picked Ugas for the upset but seeing him on the scales i think Ugas might got old overnight lol. He looked REALLY old. I was hoping for a Shawn Porter vintage performance. He looked pretty good in the Porter fight. And Porter has a similar/comparable style to Pac imo. But seeing old Ugas on the scales i think Pac has this. Compare it: vs. Porter (timestamped) This content is protected vs Omar Figueroa (timestamped) This content is protected vs Pac (timestamped) This content is protected He's looking MUCH older here imo. I also heard Pac was sparring Ugas in camp so i guess in the end it's a cherry pick by Team Pacquiao.
Of course his body isn't looking old. He's training every day in a professional environment. What do you expect his body to look like? Andy Ruiz like? Lmfao. And yeah he's bigger than Pac. So was Thurman. I think only one guy touched the canvas in that fight. And it wasn't the smaller Pacquiao.
This fight is a joke. Ugas had a one week training camp. People complain about fighters not having long enough training camp for Canelo, like 4 or even 6 weeks isn't enough. Ugas has a 1 week training camp to prepare for Pac and has a clear Bicep injury. This fight should be cancelled, but they're throwing $$ at Ugas so to get that payday he's going into a fight injured and with no training camp. It's a complete joke. The fact that this is a PPV and the same price as Pac Spence, it's embarrassing for boxing.
what are you talking about? He was training for a fight on the same card for months. He was supposed to fight Fabian Maidana.
And Fabian Maidana suffered what appears to be the same injury that Spence suffered, an eye injury supposedly in sparring. What are the chances of both Spence and Fabian getting the exact same injury at the exact same time who were about to fight on the same card? So yes technically Ugas was already in camp, but he only had 1 week of training to prepare for Pac. And he appears to have what looks like a bicep injury. Having only 1 week to prepare for Pacquiao while nursing an arm injury is a huge disadvantage. We seen how limited Pac was vs Mayweather with the shoulder injury, we know how an arm injury can affect a match. Ugas is not 100% and did not have a proper training camp training for this opponent.
It's a fair point though. We heard about how unfair it was for Canelo's opponents to *only* have a 4 or 6 week training camp. Not only did Ugas only have 1 week of a training camp preparing for Pacquiao, but he's also suffering from a bicep injury. It's not the same training for an opponent, then having that opponent pull out, then having only a week to prepare for a much better and more stylistically different opponent. And a Bicep injury on top of that, this is a complete joke. Think about how more harder he would have trained for Pac had he had a full 4 to 6 week camp. He wouldn't have trained as hard for Fabian as he would have for Pacquiao if he had a full camp for Pac. This is clearly a $$ grab by Ugas. He's injured but he's fighting anyway to get that big payday. He has no chance to win. He's not prepared, he's not ready, he's injured but fighting because $$ is being thrown at him to save the PPV. This is everything that's wrong with boxing.
