Not an ATG and never will be. ATG is the highest standard of fighter resumes - plenty of top notch fighters H2H are not ATG at all.

As a side note, re-watching Loma as an amateur and up to the Russel fight makes me think of what could've been had he'd gone pro earlier. Before 'High-Tech' and the stupid Matrix crap Loma was an absolute animal - clever, tenacious and extremely aggressive. Always swarming cleverly and trying to destroy your body. He had that charismatic gritty soviet charm that seemed to get lost as the backing and hype machine grew. His brutal gold winning effort in 2008 in particular was a fine fusion of skill and will. He just doesn't have that anymore and it's a shame the casuals will never see him at the height of his passion.

Today's Pacquiao vs current Lomachenko @ 140. Think the old man could do it?

If GrandPac were to fight Lomachenko he wouldn't be dimensionally challenged for once. Lomachenko is taller but his reach is low.
The old man still has handspeed.
I really wish old man Pac had taken a tune-up fight instead of jumping straight into a championship bout.

Im a big pac fan too, but his tight legs would have been an open buffet invite for loma. Im judging this off of Pac's recent fight and loma vs teo. Loma in attack mode like he was against nakatani though would be brutal.

A prime manny vs prime loma (whenever this is or was) would have been such a fun fight to watch.

    Is suspect that yes.
Loma already is too small for 135 lbs division and with damn unnecessary long mileage in ams under belt.
He will not beat any @140 lbs division top 10 boxer in very good shape. NONE.
BTW not likely Loma is walking around at 140 lbs, I suspect a bit lesser weight.

ATG thing is for fans, like belts and so on.
In a lot of countries ams are ams on paper, best example was Soviet Union and Soviet block plus ( especially ) Cuba.
Yeah, they did not had warranted purses ( in pro boxing even ranked 2000th in division bum gets warranted purse even if he is with 0 wins and 0 draws in pro resume ).
Ol am times in these countries: if you get medals at world, Olympic level: u have flat, car etc perks.

ATG boxers are only some dream: ATG boxer is Father Time, Undisputed champion.

H2H is so far from pro boxing, that there nothing is worth to compare.

This. Pacquiao offered him the fight at 138 and he didn’t want it. Bona fide ATG offering you a chance and he didn’t want it

And for a reason cos most likely Pacman had stopped him if they had fought.
Natural weight classes in pro boxing for Loma were 126 lbs and 130 lbs with luck and hard training.
135 lbs a bit too much.

not an atg yet but its not yet over. The names that he need are hanging around his weight class. Teo, Haney, Tank, Valdez but sadly we live in a generation where the top guys at the same weight class refuse to fight each other

It's a real shame he didn't turn pro earlier, didn't fight more regularly when he did turn over, and didn't stay in his natural weight class or at 130 because he's even more phenomenal against opponents his own size or ones who don't have huge physical advantages over him.

If he'd turned pro after winning his first Olympic gold in 2008 we would got an extra five years of him at his absolute best

'He won the gold medal at the 2009 World Amateur Championships, where he conceded only seven points in the whole tournament despite breaking his hand in the tournament.'

'Even a broken hand couldn't stop Lomachenko as he won gold at the 2009 World Championships in Milan while compromised. In that tournament, he beat his five opponents by a 56 point margin, outscoring them 63–7.'

Defeated Mario Aleksić (Bosnia and Herzegovina) 16–2
    Defeated Craig Evans (Wales) 15–1
    Defeated Branimir Stanković (Serbia) 8–2
    Defeated Oscar Valdez (Mexico) 12–1
    Defeated Sergey Vodopyanov (Russia) 12–1

Valdez is a two-weight world champion and Vodopyanov was no slouch because in addition to winning silver that year he had previously won gold at the World Amateur Championships too

At the following World Amateur Championships in 2011 he defeated

    Jose Carlos Ramirez (USA)
    Robson Conceicao (Brasil)
    Fazliddin Gaibnazarov (Uzbekistan)
    Domenico Valentino (Italy)
    Yasniel Toledo (Cuba)

JCR was a highly decorated American amateur in addition to going on to become a two-belt unified world champ in the pros

Robson Conceicao is an Olympic gold medalist and a World Amateur Championships silver and bronze medalist

Fazliddin Gaibnazarov is an Olympic gold medalist and World Amateur Championships silver medalist

Domenico Valentino is a World Amateur Championships gold, silver, and 3 x bronze medalist and a European silver and bronze medalist

Yasniel Toledo is World Amateur Championships 2 x silver medalist, 1 x bronze and an Olympic bronze medalist

The reason those fighters don't have more Olympic or World Amateur Championships gold, silver or bronze medals is because Loma is the one who beat them in some of their losses in those major championships

'Lomachenko won gold at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and avenged his 2007 World Championship defeat to rival and reigning world champion, Selimov, in the first round. He beat his five opponents by an astonishing 45 point margin, outscoring them 58–13, en route to his first gold medal at the senior level. He was subsequently named the outstanding boxer of the tournament and awarded the Val Barker Trophy. His dominant run was described by one historian as "probably the most impressive streak in Olympic boxing ever."

Additionally, he won gold again that year to also become continental champion at the European Championships in Liverpool, conceding just 4 points against his four opponents.

This is how you win an Olympic final in style. Djelkhir had impressed me with his power punching aggressive style on route to the final and I'd picked him to win gold before I saw Loma for the first time in that tournament

    His trophy cabinet

Imagine stepping foot into a ring 403 times as an amateur/WSB and only losing once, which was a controversial decision he avenged x 2.

I think he should had turned into a pro ater 2008 th games.
Euro Gold, Olympic Gold medal, huge row with these different cups.
2009 th he should had turned into a pro and rack up 10 stoppage wins in row, even if vs bums, doesn't matter.
Then maybe 2011-2012 th move to US and sign with some big promoter.
People in US loves boxers with large KO wins number in resume. Bums or not bums, promoters does knows this, media does knows this.

Loma should had stayed in lowest weight class possible for him as long as this was doable.
People loves effective looking multiple KDs and wins via KO in long row.

He would need to avenge his loss to Teo and beat Haney and Garcia at 135 that would make him a ATG probably top 70 if he did that.
