I remember voting for Pryor-Arguello in the best rounds poll @Saintpat set up last year but honestly, I'll give it to Hagler-Hearns as that had one great round out of 3 and Pryor-Arguello was fantastic for 14 rounds.
Rather than go with my gut instinct and vote Hagler-Hearns, I decided to watch them both again. I will stick with Hagler Hearns. Arguello-Pryor had more activity but after the first 45 seconds or so it lost most of it's ferocity. From beginning to end both Hagler and Hearns were throwing hard punches meant to get the other man out of there. It was an amazing round.
Here’s the poll I did on the greatest completed rounds of all time (no stoppage rounds that did not go the full 3 minutes). There’s a runaway winner and both these were nominated: https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/greatest-round-1-of-all-time.649242/ Thanks for the mention @Jel
Saad rules! LOVE that fight. I have to give it to Hagler-Hearns, if it's just the two in the topic. Even though I never though Hagler was seriously hurt, Thomas was trying his best to do so. I could see by the end of the round Thomas was doomed, Hagler was just too strong a middleweight, hadn't quite begun his decline yet. I should also mention...there are a couple of rounds in the Lyle-Foreman fight that deserve at least honourable mention.
Missed this years ago when i was only a sporadic reader.....Awesome . Thanks. Loved the Frazier Quarry round. Had not seen that
