Both at their absolute best, who takes it? Is Biggs able to use his speed, athleticism, and stinging jab to keep Golota at bay, or does Andrew bully Biggs into a stoppage?
Thought about it but decided against it for some reason. Figured folks would bring it up in discussion if that was their pick.
Hard to tell when Golota was at his best, when he was younger but more prone to fouling, or when he was older but more mature. I'd say younger Golota if he holds it together eventually KOs Biggs, but I wouldn't bet on it because Golota gonna Golota.
I don’t know. Biggs was pretty hittable. Didn’t have much durability and Golata had a great jab. Tyrell also didn’t have the kind of power or imposing style that made Andrew have one of his freakouts
i dunno, whist Biggs didnt have Lewis/Tyson power he did have respectable power and dropped the always tough Snipes with a quick, powerful right hander. I think he had enough power to dissuade Golota who could be discouraged if he didnt get his own way. And Biggs did have alot of heart, certainly more than Golota when the going got tough
Maybe. I just didn’t think Biggs was all that good in the pros ( not that Golata was great. ). Tyrell did manage to have a great amateur career and looked decent in his first 15 fights. Even went 7 rounds with a peak Tyson. But I never had much confidence in him against too many rated heavies
The snipes win was a good display for a young prospect with a dozen fights. And Biggs showed grit in that match. But Renaldo was no longer prime and had only won 4 of his last 10 fights and hadn’t beaten anyone good recently. Still not a bad win considering the stage Biggs was at but I wouldn’t use it as a measure for beating Golata
Sure if he could keep his alcohol and cocaine habit in check, which he had zero track record of being able to do. Five months rehab here, seven months there, Biggs is one of the greatest wastes of talent of all time. Watch Biggs v Tyson. First two minutes of round one Biggs had the blueprint, then he got hit and never went back to his elusive first round self. Golota brains him in seven.
Not sure where you’re getting that from. He went to rehab at the very start of his career and I don’t think he was using drugs or alcohol after.
