Henry Armstrong going for 4 of the 8 belts was allegedly a marketing tactic. Was the only way they felt they could keep up with Joe Louis' popularity.

Whom can touch Ali? From the rd predictions, to the insults, the to the legendary fights around the world. "Fight of the Century ". The Rumble in The Jungle " . The Thrilla in Manila" even the "Drama in the Bahamas where most knowledgeable boxing knew he was washed up.
Most ATG fighters wouldn't get a 2nd look by the average person. Ali is still recognized world wide 40 yrs after he last stepped into a boxing ring for for real combat 50yrs after his prime.
Even his relationship with the NOI turned into a great marketing ploy because most white Americans wanted to see him get hurt and would pay to see it live.
Think about this , Ali is still more recognizable than damn near any Athlete in the world today. People still buy books on him. Movies have been made about him.
If he were alive and in his prime today with all the media, internet etc. He would be a billionaire .

Just yesterday, I ran into a book in the bookstore that only had a picture of him on the cover. No title, subtitle, or author. Just a picture. The publishers were that confident that any buyer would immediately know who Ali was by sight.

    Pure theatre.

In Britain in the 90s, every household bought their preferred newspaper every day.
This guy Chris Eubank was never out of them.

When the Beatles come to America at the height of BeatleMania and they come to you because they just want to meet you … you’re pretty big.

Eubank also had the distinction of being Muhammad Ali’s favourite fighter to watch according Ali’s wife at his 60th birthday bash in London

There is photo's of him in places you would not expect there is a pop culture type place where I live- it sells journals, board games, wall speakers lots of cool gadgets and funny mugs ect. But you can get among other framed photos one of Ali in a sparring headgear I have never seen anywhere else. Really nice photo too little edited in butterflies around the edges of the photo.
