Yes, of course. Here are few others I like a lot.
Davey Moore 1963 Featherweight Champ, He knew me since I was a kid, and close pal of Davey Day who gave him some pointers.
Tony Zale , Daveys stablemate had many lunches with him and Davey. They both were very humble and delightful to be with.
Nate Bolden was tops a real nice guy, trained a lot of kids with Davey for the Chicago Park Districts
Willie Pep, Great fighter, Great guy, who admired Davey very much and said, Davey Day was a great boxer of the Golden Age of Boxing.
Eddie Perkins knew him well a real gentlemen
Ezzard Charles lived in South Shore, Davey pick him up in his wheel chair and brought him to his Banquet of Honor Charles Downtown Chicago, and I met him, really friendly and sharp.
    Floyd Patterson
    Jimmy McLarnin
    Ted Kid Lewis
    Sonny Liston
    Henry Armstrong
    SSR
    Billy Conn

Fabulous fighters and great experiences. Also a great time for the middleweight division with fighters like, Tony Zale and Rocky Graziano ("Somebody up there like me" is my favorite boxing movie next to Rocky), SRR and Jake LaMotta. If I remember correctly, you mentioned Marcel Cerdan in another thread. Another great fighter who even defeated Tony Zale (well it was Zale's last fight) and fought against Jake LaMotta when he was already 32 with an injured shoulder. I think he is often overlooked (maybe less in France). Well, the Second World War cost him valuable years and unfortunately, he died early due to the plane crash. Another boxer you hear very little about is Marcel Thil.

I read Gene Tunney's autobiography. Very impressive how he steadily and systematically improved. Since his hands were too prone to injuries, he went into the woods, chopped wood and worked hard outside in the fresh air until his hands became "as hard as bull's horns". He studied human anatomy to know where are the best parts of the body for his punches etc. etc. I also want to read Nat Fleischer’s book about Benny Leonard later.
