People get so blinded by their hate for Eddie Hearn they start chatting some **** themselves. Skys domestic cards look pony as it stands. Taylor vs Catterall will be decent but that’s in December. Eddie’s September and October trumps Sky. Criticise it for being overpriced because it is but give the honesty both ways. Right now DAZNs UK schedule is better than Sky’s. Will it last? Let’s see. We need big November and December cards from Hearn (and Warren) and no not Brook v Khan!
Khan v brook is probably the one big domestic fight that will get casual interest this year. Bigger than Taylor v catarall for sure.
On their own those Sky domestic cards aren't great but paired with the Top Rank shows and everything else available on Sky it's better value than what the used car salesman is offering the mugs. £8 well spent lads.
It will be much more difficult to do that via DAZN. Trying to build a fighter into an box office star behind a niche subscription service would take a miracle.
It looks clear from the variety of views on this thread, even from Matchroom FC fans, that DAZN UK has got this price increase wrong. Only a mass exodus of subscribers will make them think again - should this thread represent the wider views of the DAZN UK subscriber base, then that is what is happening. Hopefully DAZN UK have a crisis meeting with Eh Day Earn and realise that the arris is about to fall out of this venture in the UK before it gets going.
Had a quick look on Twitter and a load of Matchroomers were still trying to justify it so he might get away with it. There's a big cult who'd pay 8 quid a month to watch Eddie get dressed in a morning.
Just go on and hit the end subscription button, it will ask you a reason with different options, pick yours then click confirm end subscription.
Not really my issue is Hearn strutting around pretending it’s a new dawn for boxing when it isn’t. Just clearly bullshitting to get people to subscribe to DAZN. Pretending he’s going to have some great new commentary team then just gives his buddy Bellew a job kissing Conor Benns arse for the whole broadcast. Also for the life of me I can’t understand why Whyte is going with Hearn. Hearn has failed to get him a world title shot for about 5 years.
Whyte is all talk. He is happy feasting on weak competition. Whyte is a PPV fighter who has been earning easy money, so why strive for greatness ? Becoming a world champion is not his priority. However if a pudding (like Martin) gets a belt then he may attempt to take it from him.
I might be wrong but didn’t Whyte turn down a Joshua fight before it was given to Ruiz? The career high pay day wasn’t enough for him and he decided to focus on the WBC route. IMO Whyte should be naming his kids after Hearn the way he’s been turned into a multimillionaire PPV fighter.
