Marlon Starling had a "signature" move called the Starling Stomp.

Can anyone explain what it was, in words or with a video ?

There was nothing tactical about it. Maybe just something to try to rattle his opponent. Like an old wrestler's move of banging the foot on the canvas for loud effect. I remember him doing this against Lupe Aquino and then Aquino started doing it almost to say, "Right back at you!"

You can see him using it against Don Curry. Hard to see it brought much advantage except maybe a moment of confusion

Agreed, not unlike the Ali Shuffle.

I used to have fighters occasionally take a loud front-foot stomp when feinting a jab to set up a right because people react to noise — it’s hard-wired into us.

I’d also do things like yell ‘1-2-3’ as a prearranged signal to feint a 1 (jab) and throw the 3 (hook) without the 2 (right) and run people into the hook. You’d be amazed how guys react to that kind of thing, automatically react as if a 2 is coming just because of the verbal cue.
