Exactly this. There's a reason why he's fighting at journeyman level against guys who aren't big hitters. He's nothing more than a wild slugger and limited power who gets away with it because of the opposition he's facing, as well as being tiny for the weight, which showed as Granados began to wear him down a bit in the clinch which Benn wasn't enjoying and was struggling for an answer. The only reason why people along with himself say he's entertaining to watch as well is because he has no Boxing brain (the only fight of his that I found exciting was against Peynaud which he lost).
He has sparred all around the world and this is the (default) style that he has chosen. That shows a lack of ring IQ and intelligence. He reminds me of Eubank Jr.....volume punches and loading up.
Guys needs high KO % and nice looking pro record numbers to be more interesting for media management. Or to be like Loma and then still only if there is very impactful promoter. If they were able to turn Chisora ( who is proven and real world level elite gatekeeper ) into ppv boxer, then they: will have 0 problems to make into ppv stars Okolie, Buatsi, Conor Benn ( surname is famous ), keep to use A.J and Whyte and even Chisora ( in worst case to place him in high end in ppv events and very big events ). I suspect that Chisora had earned with boxing in the ring more than Lopez and Loma together till today, he got high number with enough notable fights.
He will need to tighten up the way he boxes. He doesn't hit hard enough to be as aggressive as he is and he's going to get brutally stopped at true world level unless he refines his game plan - he'll get walked onto something big. On the plus side, he may very well be aware of this and is boxing according to quality of his opponent, and he does seem to have a decent chin and engine...
He is exciting PPV material. He chose to be an action all out fighter. That style is fan friendly he gain another fan (me) but purist don't like it i see.
Don't mistake criticism for his flaws and limitations as a fighter as being the same as disliking a fighter. I like you enjoy his fights they are usually enjoyable to watch even if I'm always left with the feeling he could be better.
Grenados fighting the way he did could make anybody look bad. Other than that Benn is good but flawed. Win or lose he will produce entertaining fights against guys who come to win so thats all that really matters to me
He will get ironed out as soon as Hearn stops feeding him tomato cans. He is a brutal KO waiting to happen.
Looks and talks the part but needs to realise he doesn’t carry the same level of power as his old man and get back to fundamentals before it’s too late. His smack talk is cringeworthy for such a non achiever in the game
Hes like a teenage boy having sex. Very enthusiastic but doesn't have a clue what he's doing. Caveat to that though is that he looks like he would like to learn.
I dont mind Benn Improved considerably since his debut and can be in exciting fights if he opponent dont run away People that say he has no boxing ability are wrong, he does He just isnt amazingly skilled Needs to stop those cafgine fueled interviews however
