Because along with Haye they were the three best after Wlad Vitalli. After that you have the likes of Byrd, Sanders, Chisora,Peters, Liakhovich, compared to the likes of Usyk, Whyte, Hunter, Parker, Ruiz, Joyce, Hrgovic, Chisora, Wilder etc.
I think you are massivly overrating the current crop of B level heavies and missing out a fair few names from the Wlad era. There is certainly more hype and interest but the depth is pretty much the same. Pulev and Povetkin could still at least compete with top 10-15 guys, that speaks volumes imo.
Don't forget Wlad demolished a prime PED Pedvetkin while Joshua faced him past his best and Whyte faced him when he turned pension age.
He smashed the little man all over Moscow - one of his finer performances. Nice Tony Pullis defence combined with Jurgen Klopp attacks.

Chisora compared to Chisora. It’s that bad Chisora has span 2 eras. Years ago he wouldn’t have even been used as a sparring partner.
The heavyweight division has got a bit of interest the last 5/6 years because of AJ & Fury but it’s terrible. 40 year olds still fighting the so called best because there’s literally nobody else.
Clear all this up - @Aydamn cleared out quicker than PED Whyte being hit and landing on the canvas. Defended his man against all comers on here until Whyte hit the canvas never to return. Sad because he was a good poster.
According to the local rag, and Fury he is fighting Fury in December... Fury says he is fighting Wilder October 9th, Whyte in December, AJ in March in Saudi, Rematch with AJ in september and then Chisora as his last fight..
Sounds like Fury is on a bender, will be stripped of all titles and will need a 3rd coming backed by god to unify the division.
You have great/decent fighters able to compete and beat the next generation of fighters,this era is no different from the past. - 37 year old Lewis beating a 31 yea old vitali - 42 year old Holmes beating a 30 year old Mercer - 45 year old Foreman beating a 26 year old Moorer - 37 Norton beating a 26 year old Cobb.
