I'm pretty sure Holyfield is going to be the second oldest fighter to compete in a sanctioned boxing match (behind Steve Ward?)
If this was exhibition I could deal with it since its usually a friendly spar and it gives legends pay days. But this is a PRO bout, Evander can seriously get hurt here and I'm not sticking around to see that.
interesting perspective! made me think of something. who DOES have the record for being the oldest person to actually win a real, sanctioned bout against decent opposition?
I think Saoul Mamby was also a fair old age when he had his final pro bout, although I'm not sure just how old he was at the time. Edit: I checked Boxrec, and it seems that Mamby -- Born 4 June, 1947 -- was past his 60th birthday when he had his final pro fight in 2008. https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/235
