Regardless of Rahman vs. Toney fight yesterday, and how posters feel about the decision, I want to know what people think should happen to James Toney if he gets caught using steroids again.

Should he be just fined, banned for certain time or permanently, warned or other.

Please try to stick to the subject above, and not to revert to the events that took place yesterday.

He should be taken out back and beaten with a stick.

But in all honesty I think he should be banned for a year or two, which would more than likely force him to retire. Actually though, come to think of it, for his own health he should be banned permanently

Do you think his purse should be taken away or just a heavy fine, or maybe no fine at all?

Banned permanently. He got caught 2 times already. If you haven't learnt the lesson by then, time for a bigger punishement.

One a sidenote, a 5 or even 2 year banning would pretty much equal retirement as well. Exactly, no punishement would pretty much mean have might as well retire, too.

I think lifetime ban on first offence is the way to get rid of drugs from all sports cheating is the lazy peoples way to win. So if he gets caught again take his purse and a huge fine and lifetime ban.

Purse taken away imo. This isn't the first time so it should be shown that you will come down on hard

The boards and proper authorities have set policies to deal with this and they have seemed to follow them correctly, whether we agree they arent harsh enough or not.

My issue is why would promoters, trainers and T.V networks still want to associate with an out and out cheat, a poor role model who is not only a drug cheat but encourages people that being fat is ok.
Toney goes against the sporting ideals I thought all Americans stood for but its does not reflect well on a society when time and time again elite athletes are caught like this and given chance after chance after chance. I suppose in a place where a celebrity's career seems to get a boost if they go to rehab you have to expect that.

It could happen. I have no doubt Toney has been using steroids his enitre HW run. It tells me that, since Toney tested positive against Batchelder, that is a fight were you just show up and win. Like Toney thought he needed steroids against Danny Batchleder but not Sam Peter. He was dumb enough to get caught twice.

No one has a worse physique on steroids then Toney.

The WBA gave Toney a chance to appeal. They said, ok then show the prescription & the doctor, then we will re-evaluate the situation. Toney done nothing he was told to do , was stripped of the belt with no appeal, and banned from fighting for the WBA belt for 1 year. He was flat out caught.

I guess he either liked Klitschko's story or just did not have the brains to come out with something original of his own.

From Toney's wikipedia profile, "...Toney appealed the suspension and it was reduced to 6 months after he appeared before the CSAC and claimed he didn't knowingly take any steroids and suggested that he was set up and someone had tampered with his water bottle."

While I am not a steroid expert by ane means, I could not find any such reference about neither

The above steroids are completely for different purpose.
