For example, many people love the early/mid-seventies heavyweight division with fighters like Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, and George Foreman. What's your favorite weight class era(s), because of great fighters, exciting rivalries and bouts, or for other personal reasons...? (all weight divisions)
Charles' LHW era & Saad's LHW era. Leonard's LW era. Canto's flyweight era. 60s BW is insane. Arguably the greatest ever.
I loved the UK Middleweights of the 80's & then 90's Sibson, Kaylor, Graham, Christie etc. Benn, Eubank sr, Watson, Collins, Pyatt (initially a LM) etc.
Late 80s, early 90s post-Hagler MW era was stacked. McCallum, Nunn, Toney, Jackson, Kalambay, Benn, Eubank, Roy Jones Jr, G-Man 90s WW had some great names as well ODLH, Trinidad, Quartey, Carr, Sweet Pea, Jose Luis Lopez
LHWs Charles through the 50s Charles, Bivins, Archie Moore, Harold Johnson, Harry Matthews, Joey Maxim, Patterson, black murderers row (end of their run) basically 46-56
Beat me to it. The MW division from late 80's to early 90's was incredibly stacked arguably one of the best collections of talent ever just a shame Hagler didn't stick around after the SRL loss there were great fights for him. Underrated : WW and LW from 2005 - 10 or so with Floyd, Pac, Matquez, Hatton, Cotto, Mosley, Margo, Williams, Baldomir, Judah. What lets that era down is that we never saw Floyd - Pac when both guys were at their peak.
I have two choises. The Ali, Frazier and friends heavyweights of the 1970 and the 2000s group of 126 and 130 pounders. Barrera, Morales, Pacquiao Corrales, Casamayor, Mayweather and others made for a lot of entertaing fights.
