Back working on a building site a week after fighting infront of 20,000 people last weekend.
I’ll be honest I must have been seriously wrong about how much boxers at that level made. Would have thought he would have got a decent pay day for that and there was talk he signed a 3 fight deal with Matchroom.

Seems that game changing money leaves a lot to be desired.

He’s self employed and his last fight was the first time he’s been able to go a month without pay to do some proper full time training. Hope he gets another good pay day.

He deserves it because he half saved that show!

I heard somewhere depending on weight class obviously that I think a lot of the British title fights the winner earns no more than 5-10k

Ricky Burns and Rendall Munroe were working as well known boxers. Sure Rendall was a auropean champion and still doing the bins…

Also working might have just keep paying the bills allowing him to spend or save what's left over from purses.

Not a bad strategy if you can do it like that. I'm sure he's had some half decent purses for his level in his last 3-4 fights.

Hopefully he can get himself a world title shot now and get a decent size purse.

Meanwhile Conor Benn is where is he not because of his dad but because of what he's done "PPV BABY!"

Maxi Hughes is a credit to the sport, I hope he gets to earn some decent money, the run he's on is a fantastic one.

Think Maxis a credit to the sport but let’s not kid ourselves that Benn is simply more marketable.

Maxi Hughes has 6k Instagram followers to Benns 400k. It’s simply Conor brings a bigger audience. Not a massive fan of benns personality but he’s certainly exciting

Because he's the son of Nigel Benn, without that he wouldn't have any of the exposure and carefully steered career to get him into a position to have 400k followers. Maxi Hughes didn't start his career on Sky TV or have any of the leg ups afforded to Benn.

Is he exciting though? Yes he has followers i get that, but people keep going on about how exciting he is to watch, but most of his fights are against guys well past their primes or featherfists that barely punch back which he struggles to put away.

Other than his fight against Peynaud the first time which he lost but got a gift against a guy who was meant to be a knockover job, what other exciting fights has Conor Benn been in?

Really hope Maxi get’s a big fight off the back of this. They’re talking about a world title fight (again) for Jono Carroll next - surely Maxi is miles ahead of him give his run since they fought?

Ricky Burns worked in JD Sports, even when he became world champion. I think it was to try and keep himself grounded as opposed to not being paid enough as a boxer. He only gave it up when he went to train down in England.

We're told he is by Hearn's propaganda wagon but as you've rightly pointed out, name the excitement? It's a very similar path to that trodden by Eubank Jnr, just slightly fine tuned as the Benn's have more mainstream appeal than the Eubank's. I saw a Hearn post shared by Benn saying that a World Title fight is incoming

    147 World Champions

WBC & IBF - Erol Spence Jnr ~ He would absolutely school and destroy Benn
WBO - Terence Crawford ~ Benn would struggle to lay a glove on him
WBA - Yodenis Yugas ~ Unless Yugas is paid big to take a dive he's not leaving the ring a World Champion
    IBO - Currently vacant

It's blatantly going to be for the IBO against a no hoper paid to turn up and at least throw something whilst Benn acts like he's Ali. Exciting.
