If Wilder or his team have even a smidgen of boxing IQ they would be focusing almost exclusively on that. The rest of the time on any flaws that they observed in Fury through the two matches.
If he does notice new abilities, how does he then react? Switch back to the boxing approach? I wonder if this is being pondered by Big John and that's why he's been training him for movement.
I see him as being very effective against those who either rush in without sufficient skill (Spzilka), or stand directly in his path and give him clear extension on his right (Brazzeale, others).
It makes me wonder how Wilder vs Whyte would play out. The body punching of Whyte could cause him issues.
Fury is unorthodox as a person and a boxer, that's probably one of his biggest assets, you just don't know what you're going to get, he keeps people guessing, he has people overthinking and Wilder 2 showed that up perfectly, Wilder was overthinking and while he was thinking he was overwhelmed. Furys personality speaks for itself, we've seen him be serious, speak eloquently and intelligently about boxing and then we've seen his dressed at batman rolling around like a 5 year old on a sugar high. Then we have Wilder 1 where he boxed and moved, Wilder 2 he steamed forward and took the play away, in other fights he has box as a southpaw from start to finish.. you get my point, Fury does whatever he likes and when he likes and it's worked so far. I think John Fury main concern is Tyson will become somewhat predictable, in the sense that.. the gym and trainer only know how to fight one way, it's an aggressive style, a come forward style and if Wilder gets his tactics right, he is very clever and very patient and he has addressed the mental side of things then he can time Fury coming in.. and the way Wilder hits, it might only take one punch.
I think that it depends on the style as well. Molina pressured him sporadically, Washington outboxed him for several rounds using only a jab, Szpilka pressured him but sloppily, etc. Like you said, they all left themselves open to the right hand at some point. I agree that Fury gave him the opening in the 1st match. I was watching a PBC video/story about the trilogy and Sugar Hill mentioned that he became worried when Wilder connected with 2 right hands in the 1st adn 2nd rounds. I believe that Big John also worries about it and is working to keep him mobile to avoid those. I also agree that Fury wasn't just a ramrod sloppy brawler in the 2nd fight. The man is highly skilled. Question: How do you rate his inside fighting skill? I rate it him highly, given his height and weight.
Wilder better not wear that same silly gear into the ring this time. It threw his whole night down the toilet. If Fury has his head on straight he should have a second W against the Bomber.
this will be a 1-5 round toughman fight someones getting koed/tkoed. Wilder is coming in bigger and he cannot go the distane with this extra weight all fury has to do is lean on him and all that extra weight his chicken legs will be shot so wilder definitely plans on trying to end this early.
Maybe because Fury thinks that Wilder's camp will be working on a plan to deal with that formula and because of that he'll need a plan B.
