Tua landed a good hook flush on Lennox.

bs. Tyson was repeatedly badly hurt by Lewis' punches. Oliver McCall dropped his hands and looked over Lewis' shoulder when taking those same shots. Tua was never seriously hurt either. Nor Vitali. Or the 215lb vegetarian Mavrovic.

Tyson had a good chin but he was hardly iron chinned. He was rocked badly by Bonecrusher Smith, Buster Douglas simply beat the living daylights out of him and Razor Ruddock definitely had him hurt a few times. His later career shows an even bigger decline in his abilities to take a punch. Holyfield wasn't a monstrous puncher at heavyweight but had him hurt plenty. Lennox also smashed him up and his last two losses are just plain sad.

There were 2 Tysons and both very different. There was the Tyson under Rooney who was disciplined, dedicated, boxed, elusive, body punched, motivated. Then there was Tyson post Rooney who did what he wanted ,never trained seriously, party animal, drink and drugs and solely relied on the brute force approach, intimidation and was basically a straight forward head hunter. You could even say there was a third Tyson who fought on just to pay his debts off with even less motivation.Tysons last fight under Rooney against Spinks was the peak of him, after that he was simply never the same fighter again . First fight after Spinks was Bruno iirc and he was hit clean more in that fight than the rest of his career up to that point. jmo

Tyson always had a very good chin. However, that super aggressive style requires constant head movement. After becoming a one dimensional head-hunter who would just walk people down or just leap in, he was sitting duck especially after getting tired. Hence why you saw him suffer some violent koes.

Tyson had an awesome chin. Basically you had to beat the guy down to KO him. He never went down from a single shot but it was always an accumulation of big power punches to put a dent in the guy; Douglas, Holyfield 1, Lewis and Williams are all examples of that. It was never one shot. His chin is 9.5 of out of 10 in my opinion.

"Iron" chins only exist in maybe 0.01% of the world's population or something ridiculous.

Mike took that shot well and brought it to Smith in the final seconds. Didn't phase Tyson at all.

Compare to Bruno 1, in which he was actually wobbled a bit from Bruno in the first round, yet also took that punch well and proceeded to bring it Bruno. So it wouldn't have mattered if Smith opened up earlier, if he did he would have gotten knocked out just like Bruno did.
