Parker doesn't consider himself to be a serious contender. Because he's not.

He knows he can't beat Joyce or Hrgovic, let alone AJ (who has already beaten him) or Fury (who he's a beta sparring partner for).

Chisora is 38 now and has been in so many wars. Parker-Chisora is far more lucrative than Parker-Hrgovic and it's a winnable fight for him.

95% of the people who voted on my Parker post don't think he'll be a world champ again. Only the most deranged Parker fanboys (all three of them) say otherwise and even they don't believe it.

Dont really see the point of them having another fight tbh. Would have rather seen them both fight Hrgovic and Joyce but obviously they see more benefit fighting again even if they are both gatekeepers now.

Parker should win more convincingly 2nd time round but knowing him, he'll probably lose the rematch haha.

Parker's only chance for a title shot

will only come if the belts are split up again

I think that Parker is happy fighting guys like Chisora and Fa without having to take his training to seriously he knows he is naturally more talented and can beat them on that alone.

At least Parker has fought 3 times in a year

    That alone is unique..

I cannot understand how Parker keeps on getting these big money fights.

He stunk the ring out against Hughie Fury, stunk it out against Cojanu, stunk it out against Fa and just settled like a ***** vs AJ.

How is this guy still getting these fights. Who actually wants to see him fight? Why not give some of the younger guns/up comers a chance?

As far as Chisora is concerned he comes to fight. He maybe crude and gassed out by 5-6 rounds but at least he has a go.

Looks like the sales strategy here is to recycle the same boring old names over and over again regardless of whether anyone else wants to see them fight. Or regardless of whether they are actually entertaining to watch.

I dont watch HW boxing to see someone stick and move, hold up close and try and sneak a UD.

I wont be paying for this one. But I bet because of that it ends up being an absolute beast of a fight.

Why not? If you have good manager and promoter and Parker isn't that bad at all.

The same Chisora, yeah, had lost vs Fury, later appeared that he is enough good for 40 y.o uncle Vitali, career still did not had ended:
happiness in life is not some crap belt or noise.
He get Haye fight after he lost vs Vitali, then again Fury fight, nothing had prevented him to get Helenius, Kabayel fights,
2 fights vs Whyte and this was NOT end.
Recently he had get fights vs Usyk and Parker.

And why not? Btw well paid, western media usually loves to lower EE fighters purses ( with intent ): IRL both of them: Usyk and Chisora had get at least 2m GBP each! for this beauty.
After this Chisora was still enough good for Parker to fight with.
I dunno how high purse he get for this but for sure more than half m GBP.
    Cool career.

I don't have a particularly high opinion of Parker, there are fighters outside the top 10 who would definitely beat him, the fight with Chisora is irrelevant and it only serves him to keep his place in the top 10, of course if he wins..

    What sells fights is "Names"

Parker has a 'name' in the UK and so does Chisora

Decent match still, I think. Two top 10 HWs. Not sure why it's getting so much stick.

    First matchup was pretty action-packed

    Chisora is great that way...

I actually think despite his reputation for being boring, that Parker’s fights against Ruiz, Takam, Whyte, Chisora were all pretty entertaining. His inability to stick to a game plan or to clearly separate himself from his opponent makes for nip and tuck fights.

I reckon it’s more a sense of frustration that he should be beating these guys more clearly, rather than the fights actually being bad. Maybe if we just reset our expectations and perceived Parker as a Chisora-level fighter, we wouldn’t find him so frustrating.
