Yeah that’s more his world, drinking and taking drugs at club nights - needs to leave the boxing to the real fighters.
The fact he actually wants the Paul fight says everything. Make his money quick before he gets found out. Will even fight for title of note? He's only 22 so has a bit of time but the match making seems overly cautious.
Tommy Fury won’t make it in boxing and it’s just a matter of time before he is knocked out cold in the ring. He’s just not that good unfortunately. Also given his social media status it will be catastrophic if he is sparked out cold. So if I was his manager or advisor I’d tell him to just pack in the boxing and become a full time house husband to Molly Mae.
Tommy is a celebrity boxer- I dont know why people keeping comparing him to conventional pros. This whole Jake Paul thing has really given him the perfect way out. He can cash in, with a fight that will be a massive pay day PPV and call it a day.
Let's face it, he has zero star quality so he's done well to get as far as he has. Lad has no talk, nothing about him, just a perfectly groomed set of eyebrows, lads like Tommy are ten a penny in Marbella and similar chavholes.
I just want to see him progress- he should be eyeing area titles at this stage. The Jake Paul fight obviously is very lucrative (probably a nailed on UK PPV) but a massive risk. Fury needs to work out what he wants from boxing otherwise he will end up treading water and the public will start to lose interest.
I think Jake Paul is a loser, not very good at boxing and a wanker but that said he’s right to call Tommy very embarrassing here. The frustrating thing is is that Tommy Fury has a real chance of losing to Jake Paul, and he is representing the sport as “a real boxer” when in reality he isn’t, he’s just a celeb with ties to the sport that postures for a bit of extra cash.
All this Youtube boxing stuff came along at the perfect time for Tommy. I think that's about his skill level. Pretty much on par with Jake Paul at this point, so that fight does make some sense. Although, as a 'real boxer' he has more to lose than Paul does, who was never a boxer anyway.
I'm starting to like Paul because he, whether it's deliberate or not, is starting to show up so much of what is wrong with boxing for the World to see. Pro's fighting on the undercards of his fights to actually get a decent payday when you've got dedicated pro's, champions, over here still having day jobs.
I’m with the other posters here, I don’t like Paul but he’s spot on - wtf is he playing at. You have to be a bit more savvy than that with all the eyes on you. Have a blow out after your training/fight but there’s a time and place.
Without Tyson he'd just be another contestant on Love Island, which would have given him some short-term fame and a few quid. Nothing more. He's a good looking lad but he's no boxer.
