Toney couldn’t deal with someone like Byrd. He’d probably look horrible.

Exactly correct. Byrd is the worst type of match-up for Toney. Side note, I was at Toney's 2nd to last fight which took place in St Louis and Byrd was in attendance. They are both Michigan guys and are friends outside of the ring. I got to talk to Byrd the night before at the weight in. Super nice guy.

I fancy Byrd too. The combination of rapid fire volume bursts with slipperiness is going to be trouble for Toney to deal with. I think Chris outpoints him down the stretch.

Honestly if Byrd was forced to come forward and fight. As in James gave him counter punchers middle finger and made him lead Byrd would be lost- A lot more then if James was forced to catch him which could happen.

byrd MD. Toney would try everything and have his moments but bad match up and he was too flat footed at hw and cw. Toney busier but byrd with the edge in connects and accuracy and takes fewer clean shots.

Almost happened when Toney won WBA championship they already agreed on unification before James was stripped.
I think that Toney would have won it with a close decision

    This is more than likely.
Bryd wouldn't be facing a massive puncher here, he'd be confident.
I just see Toney struggling really and hardly winning a round.

a round? Are we talking about the same Byrd who arguably lost to the likes of Oquendo, Williamson and Golota?

actually Toney was the more skilled of the 2.And the busier

Out of the two its Toney that gets hit the more. Chris was the more successful at heavyweight.
Byrd still had the bigger name win s at heavyweight.
In a fight I see it being a lop sided win for Chris.
