Serious question. Joshua's resume is a bunch of over the hill names strung together with some "nearly men" sprinkled on top. As there is nothing close to a marquee win, is it possible that the person who snatched his 0 actually has a better win than any of his? If you look at the state of the division two years ago, it was abundantly clear that whoever would knock off one of the "big three" would immediately have the best victory in a HW scene that hadn't mixed it up yet. What no one counted on, perhaps due to him technically being obese, was Andy Ruiz snatching one of the 0's. Nonetheless, two years ago there was a HIGH prize placed upon the scalp of any of the big three. This win, and the manner in which it was earned, seems to me to be FAR greater than any of the 40 year old former names Joshua has defeated. Fury dethroning V. Klit to become lineal is of course a better win. The way in which he destroyed Wilder is very likely a better win too. But, what are we left with for great wins in the division? Ruiz making a highly touted "big 3" fighter say no mas is certainly in the top 3 or 4. Excited to see what unfolds in the coming month. Usyk may end up being Joshua's best win should he pull through. If Wilder defeats Fury, that will make THREE fighters who have a better win than Joshua's best win. edit: copied over my list from another thread 1. Tyson Fury UD V. Klitschko 2. Tyson Fury TKO7 D. Wilder 3. Fat Tyson Fury UD D. Wilder (robbery) 4. Andy Ruiz NOMAS7 A. Joshua 5. Anthony Joshua TKO11 42 year old V. Klitschko
A.J had TKOed 41 y.o ring rusty beltless Wlad. We should see how he will look in the ring when he will be with ring rust and 41 y.o. So yeah, A.J life's most valuable fight is Andy Ruiz Jr II fight. Nothing else here. And under aunt Eddie is easy to fight vs Parker ( not enough old ) in U.K for sure. Parker most likely should had KOed AJ to get a draw here cos A.J is Canelo No2 only not in Nevada but in U.K.
As an isolated win yeah I’d say so, but with the rematch taken into account maybe not. Like, it was a great win, but Joshua won the rematch pretty easy which detracts from it slightly. Still though it was pretty amazing looking back. When he got knocked down in the 3rd I think everyone thought it was the beginning of the end, which it was, but not the end everyone thought.
1. Ruiz v Joshua (prime 3 belts) 2. Fury v Klitschko (old - the man, 3 belts) 3. Joshua v Klitschko (old - fight of the year) =4. Fury v Wilder (in U.S.) =4. Joshua v Povetkin (Pov rivals Wilder)
Probably but I think Fury's win over Clinchko was better. 2017 Clinchko almost threw bodybuilder to the hell. 2015 Clinchko would beat the crap out of him.
The very fact that Joshua could lose to someone like Ruiz on a off night shows the level he's operating at. I am of the opinion, that Joshua was a better fighter before he fought Wlad. He's slowly regressing, as he approaches his mid 30s. He isn't quite as fast as he was a few years ago.
