Have a serious ko streak Ala Golovkin as well. He needs to look unbeatable from this point for the better part of a decade.
The ref who knows far more than you has said AJ didn’t quit…stop making up stories what are you 5years old …?
Don’t think it is possible with the current group of opponents. He is likely going to have to fight until he is 40 to even be in the discussion.
beating Usyk , Fury and becoming undisputed would make him greater than Liston , Patterson , Johnson and a few others. ATG status is definitely achievable if he ends his run without taking another loss.
Ohh, yeah, he is even better boxer than this selfish, rude and crude bully pavian Lewis. He just should to become an undisputed and do title defenses in row. I think prime per prime had had KTFOed Lewis out cold with a glance.
Duran quit against SRL & is a 'great'. So AJ losing to Ruiz could be overlooked in time. I just think he has so much negativity on these boards, that even a winning run from now until retirement means he will not be an ATG.
Nothing wrong, he just should be 2-1 vs Ruiz not 1-1 like he is now. Patterson was 0-1 and turned into 2-1 vs Johanson and looks that ppl had forgive him his first loss.
All he can do is be the best of his era. If he beats Usyk and gains the undisputed by beating the winner of Fury vs Wilder then he's in the conversation. Then it's the subjective task of comparing opponents, eras etc. At that point he may come short simply due to the comparative strength of the division in bygone days. That's not in his control though, all he can do is beat what's in front of him and ask the question. I wouldn't say the loss to Ruiz puts him out of contention. Plenty of the best have a loss or two on their record. It sets him back though of course.
The Ruiz loss will always come up. As others have said, he will ned to beat Usyk and Fury and dominate for the next half decade at least. A KO of Ruiz would be good too, but the loss will still be mentioned. He's not alone in losing to non-great fighters in his physical prime, though. Foreman, Tyson, Lewis and Wlad did as well. And it's not like Ali and Holy were ring wrecks when they lost to Norton and Moorer. And while Schmeling was a former champion, I wouldn't call him a great. If Ruiz gets some good wins, that would also lessen the stigma of that loss a bit. But it will always come up, no matter what AJ achieves in the future.
