Doesn't matter if it's Wilder or AJ, if they only managed a draw against an overweight, drained Fury and got battered in the second I wouldn't give them much credit for it. Or do you give AJ credit for knocking down Ruiz once before getting spanked too?
I'm not going to read any more of your posts. So don't bother writing to me. You're just a troll. I'm going to put you on ignore now.
How many fights did Wlad have after he fought Joshua? None. He retired. No longer rated. How many fights did Pulev have after he fought Joshua? None. He's retired. No longer rated. Povetkin fought on after Joshua, probably shouldn't have, got KOed and retired. Luis Ortiz has had five fights since he first lost to Wilder. Still active. Still rated #6 by Ring. Four spots higher than Usyk, who will likely also retire when he loses to Joshua on Saturday. Has never announced he's retiring. Is still in the title picture. Saying "Luis Ortiz" doesn't wipe away the fact that most of Joshua's name fights came over guys at the VERY END of their careers. (Like LAST FIGHT very end.) Wilder is also fighting the best fighter in the whole sport for the third time in HIS PRIME next month. And, if Wilder wins, WILDER will be the WORLD CHAMPION and the best fighter in the sport. Who is the best fighter in his prime Joshua has faced again? Joshua has never faced anyone as good as Tyson Fury, let alone dropped him twice and drawn with him. Joshua is fighting a middle-aged cruiserweight next and Usyk will likely retire after he loses, too. Since he has only made a half-hearted attempt at heavyweight so far. One guy is fighting the Ring WORLD champion. One guy is fighting the #10 Ring contender in probably his last fight. I just call them like I see them. In 19 or 20 days, we'll know who the best heavyweight in the world is. Don't go anywhere. (LOL)
Like I said, you've made the argument better than anyone else. Ortiz is old and on his way out, as you said that's enough for a resume. If we don't include Ortiz who then becomes Wilders best win, does he even have one?
Wilder's best successful defense was his two-knockdown win over Tyson Fury. I've said that over and over again. It was one of the biggest heavyweight title fights this century. There are thousands of posts on it on this board. It actually occured. I don't know why you guys insist on pretending Wilder didn't drop Fury twice and successfully retain his title that night. Wilder made TWO more successful defenses after that, and then he defended his title FOR A SECOND time against Fury last time out. It happened. Wilder has fought the best heavyweight on the planet in title fights twice and he's going to fight him again in 19 days for THE WORLD title. Wilder entered their first fight as the defending WBC champ. Wilder entered their rematch as the defending WBC champ. And if Wilder leaves after the third fight with the RING AND the WBC belt ... he will have won the series, for all intents and purposes. Because he will have walked away having won everything. (Unless Fury wants to do it again someday.) And Deontay Wilder will be the WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION. And all the alphabet wins over Charles Martin and Andy Ruiz will never add up to that because they aren't Tyson Fury.
No, you said titles don't count remember. So we aren't talking about any defences, again this was your argument (LOL) So if Ortiz is too old to count, what then is Wilders best victory (LOL) Like I said, kinda shot yourself in the foot there.
How exactly did I shoot myself in the foot? Tyson Fury is Wilder's best opponent. The night Wilder dropped Fury twice and fought him to draw was his best performance. Whether it was for a belt or not doesn't change that. You seem to want to go well, FORGET the time he tied with the best fighter in the world right now (THE WORLD CHAMP) and FORGET the TWO TIMES he knocked out Luis Ortiz (who has been rated and is still rated highly by Ring for a half decade) ... forget about the SIX KNOCKDOWNS he scored over Fury and Ortiz ... let's go back four or five years and tell me who is best before that? It's not 2017 anymore. In the last three years, no one in the division has faced better heavyweights than Deontay Wilder. On the other hand, in the same period, Anthony Joshua hasn't even fought a top rated heavyweight. Usyk is rated 10th. Pulev was rated 10th. Ruiz wasn't rated at all when they fought. Wilder has passed Joshua by. When he wins the World Title from Fury in a few weeks, he'll pass him by, too. I need to go to bed now. Talk to you later. You guys all seem to want it to stay 2017 forever around here ... back when Joshua was going places. Now, people are picking him to lose to a blown up, middle-aged cruiserweight because Joshua quit against a bloated, unrated late sub. Can't go back, though.
I’m glad you have recognised its not 2017 anymore as it’s actually 2 years prior to 2017 that Ortiz had the one and only meaningful win of his career against gatekeeper Jennings. Ortiz is crap. He’s an overrated old man that should have retired 5 years ago.
What about on your alt accounts? Make sure you block him on those too. I know this must come as a huge surprise, but… Didn’t read. Nor will anyone else. See you on the next page.
The reality is - Wilder has only beaten one opponent that could be argued is a top 10 quality opponent, and that is Ortiz. It's the only win of Wilder's that's remotely impressive, and he almost lost the first time around when he nearly got TKO'd.
In fairness to Stiverne. Whilst maybe seen as a bit of a paper champion, he was seen as a legitimate top 10. The state he was in for the rematch kind of makes people rate him lower than he was imho
