Keep changing my mind to be honest. I'll say yes for now... ask me tomorrow will be a different answer.
I didn't see it as a "struggle". There is a difference between "struggling" and being ineffective. He was not particularly effective, but that was not the goal. The goal early was clearly damage limitation and to let Chisora predictably blow a gasket. Why would Usyk come out and do anything different when a blind man can see that Chisora will be running on empty after a few rounds? You'd either have to be an idiot to do anything else, or be too arrogant. He handled Chisora easily and even these first few rounds there was no danger. His footwork was a sight to behold and he made Chisora look like a bit of an amateur. If Usyk is unable to land a half decent punch on Joshua's kisser, he out to be ashamed. He's there for the taking. There is no way Joshua outboxes Usyk to a legitimate UD, though he could be the recipient of a Matchroom decision, of course.
LOL. Usyk would've beaten that version of Holmes more convincingly than that. He's a completely different league to Spinks ffs.
I don’t think he stops Usyk, think he will fight far more cautiously as he has done since the Ruiz fight.
We'll see what he does in the Joshua fight because the say he was getting outboxed by Bellew before the KO i don't see it. Holmes has a better gas tank than Bellew, a way better chin and a better jab.
Well, I can't argue with any of that. I have thought about it going this way. But I just sense that it cannot be like that. Usyk is too ambitious, surely. I sincerely hope it isn't like that. I'd rather see a bit of drama with knockdowns and such. It's my favourite pairing in the division, so my expectations are high.
Ah, you what? Usyk is a A-grade. Maybe even A+ if he beats AJ this weekend. I meant Parker is the lesser version of Usyk. What is your native language? If you can converse boxing with me in my language, I can try learn yours.
Usyk has never been hurt or wobbled in his professional career and he's faced a guy whos a harder puncher than current Joshua in Gassiev.
Spinks was a mental midget, he came into the ring absolutely terrified. You could see he didn't want to be there and was looking for a way out as soon as possible. It doesn't matter how skillful you are, if you are absolutely shell-shocked and terrified before the fight starts, you'll lose.
I agree they are not the same, Usyk is better. Who has Parker KO with his "good deal of Power?" Usyk also has good chin and better defense. They are similar height and reach. Usyk also has not been KO. And I don't think AJ will be the first to do it. If AJ does get the KO I'll give him plenty of credit as Usyk is a former undisputed cruiserweight champion and Olympic gold medalist.
My point was that Parker was being classed as a "c-grade Usyk". What I'm saying is that it's a poor comparison. Someone basically saying "AJ couldn't KO a poor mans Usyk so he cannot be Usyk". It's a stupid comparison Usyk is quicker, better defence and a better boxer, but Parker has more power and probably a better chin. Parker's chin has been tested at this level, Usyk's has not.
I think its a good comparison. Usyk is a much better boxer than Parker. From footwork to punch variation. And they have similar height and reach. Parker does have more experience at HW. I believe you're over rating Parkers power. He couldn't put away Conajnu, Fa, Chisora, Takam or H Fury.
I don’t think Joshua stops Usyk as he will be fighting a lot more cautious and will be happy with a points win. I do think that Usyk could well fight at a high pace and try and stop a gassed Joshua in the later rounds to take the decision out of the judges hands. Be interesting to see what weight they both come in at tbh .
I think AJ's power will be a deciding factor but not in a sense of stopping Usyk. I think Usyk has a good chin but he'll still soon come to realise AJ can bang and might be a bit cautious and lose a decision.
