I'm curious about the Forum's theories explaining why Henry Cooper created the career he did in boxing, while his genetically identical brother was less successful at the same sport.
George was actually just as good as Henry, but they tossed a coin to see who'd be the bigger name. George lost, so, in effect he actually lost his fights and wasn't as good..on purpose.! Fact.
Henry actually never lost to Ali. They did a last minute substitution between rounds both times. The switch was edited out during the time when Dundee ripped Ali's glove.
I knew it!! I've been saying for years that Henry didn't really look the same in there. Idk, something about his hair didn't look as it normally did. Thank you CT, all these years I thought I was imagining it
Henry's own explanation, from what I remember, is that his brother's skin was even more fragile than Henry's. Which you wouldn't expect, given their shared biology.
Same with Travis Simms and Tarvis Simms. Identical twins. Both boxers. Travis became a WBA Super Welterweight champ. His brother was a journeyman. Travis became an elected state representative. Tarvis became a criminal. They got into a fight with each other once and police had to be called. One twin seemed to get all the talent, and the other seemed to be a complete mess. Very weird. https://www.ringtv.com/592701-travis-simms-contender-state-politics/ https://www.espn.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=5058305
I'm imagining the scene at dinner when they're both rolling on the ground punching each other. "Honey, hit him with the fire poker! He's Tarvis!" "Don't listen to him, dear! I'm your husband. *He's* Tarvis! Hit him!"
