IF AJ stops Usyk on Saturday night is this a better win than Fury stopping Wilder? Usyk is arguably one of the, if not the, greatest cruiserweights of all time but hasn't set the hw scene alight just yet. Wilder on the other hand is one of the hardest punching heavyweights of all time with one punch ko power, but a limited boxing ability and arguably one of the weakest hw title defences of all time. Usyk is the superior fighter, Wilder has achieved significantly more at hw.
Usyk. Wilder is an American hype job. The latter has had a manufactured career and title run, whilst the former is one of the greatest boxers of our time.
It's hard to judge until after the fight imo. If it's a one round ko people will discount it but if it's a good 5 or 6 rounds before a ko or even a 12 round war Joshua will get more credit for it!
Wilder away from home for me given Fury was a huge underdog before the first fight. Usyk will be Joshua's best win in only his 2nd fight with any uncertainty about the outcome even though he is strong favourite with the Bookmakers.
It’s difficult to say. I think we’ll have to wait until after the fight to decide. If Usyk has suddenly faded overnight or puts in a Haye like performance then it would be Wilder. It’s a tricky one.
Depends what the question is and what's being judged. If it's whether theoretically Fury 'beating' Wilder in their first fight would've been more impressive than Joshua beating Usyk this weekend then it's the Fury win. If it's Fury beating Wilder for the second time in their 3rd encounter vs Joshua beating Usyk this weekend then it's the Joshua win. The other factor is that once again Joshua is the home fighter with every possible marginal advantage weighted in his favour. I'd be really interested to know whether any rematch (should Usyk win) would take place in Ukraine.
Usyk for me trumps any of the wilder wins - and I am including Fury's win against wider in the first fight Usyk is far more skilled/mobile/accurate than Wilder and likely to be much more of a challenge - he will give AJ problems - I believe he would Fury as well Wilder is imho hyped up and has a padded record. He has legitimate power but his movement and fundamentals are so poor that I believe any decent HW would beat him; especially after the 2nd fight with Fury. Fury will do the same to him again in the 3rd fight. I think AJ would literally blast him out but would still like to see that fight and of course we all never truly know until the fights take place.
Usyk notable wins - Chisora - Bellew - Gassiev - Briedis - Huck - Hunter - Glowacki Wilder - Ortiz Usyk already has a win over a HW with more impressive wins than Wilder's only notable opponent nevermind clearing a very good CW divison. Clearly beating Usyk (the greatest CW ever) is better than beating Wilder ( a HW with extremely padded and cherry picked record that's avoided and turned down a lot top HWs).
Fury was an underdog before the first fight as people didn’t know if he was serious about returning, it has no relevance to the upcoming fights.
The opening post is unclear whether it is the previous Wilder fight or upcoming. If previous it is Fury for me - a destruction of a hard hitting, long reigning champion away from home. Given where he came from after a long absence - this is the greatest comeback in modern boxing history. The legend of The Gypsy King will forever be talked about.
Have to laugh at these comments. Usyk might have been a great cruiserweight but he's not a heavyweight. Usyk is the better boxer, but Wilder is significantly more dangerous. Chisora walked through Usyk's best shots.
