Not too bothered about ring size, could go either way. A pursuing, aggressive AJ and a moving Usyk would obviously prefer a smaller and larger ring respectively; Ruiz 2 style AJ and and Usyk interested in pressuring and countering would go the other way round. Average size ring is hard to complain about.
This is the size no one can complain about, right down the middle as standard as can be. Usyk is a fine grained mover anyway, he's getting in and out of range and can do that as long as the ring is larger than his opponent's reach.
Normal and classic biased EE boxers hater's post. A.J might feel very comfortable in large ring: there he does have more opportunity to use reach advantage. Boxers like A.J and Fury, Parker will not suffer from 20 ft or 22 ft ring. These aren't Whyte or Chisora. Usyk too, I think 20 ft or 22 ft will not matter for him too much. And if about pre emptive excuses, I did not had checked up media about this but if in reality it was: A.J supposed covid is damn huge excuse. Pov looked like half alive in weight ins for 2 nd fight, there had been posted even "Jesus " and Glowacki was unusually light in weight ins. Usyk changes angles and if he will be able to do this, will not matter 18 ft, 20 ft or 22 ft ring. While A.J I think MUST win this one. Vs the like of Ruiz Jr large ring might help a lot cos his legwork is slow as hell, while vs Parker, A.J or Fury not at all.
Anything other than allowing Usyk to throw a punch and then run down the street to his house, up the steps, and lock the door behind him ... while Joshua stands outside pounding on the door to let him in ... is stacking the deck against Usyk.
