A quick google seach shows that average pro boxer in US earns lesser than average engineer. This is reality. While ppl are dreaming about very big buck just looking at top 10 purses etc things. You think that you might hire everyone in Ukraine for 10$ per day based on GDP? Someone earns these 3500 bucks take home monthly , someone earns nothing ( like in US too, even unemployment level for uni grads doesn't looks impressive at all. Nor for US nor Ukraine. ). Yeah, Ukraine is not so wealthy country like US and still not in Ukraine nor Kazahsatan prize fighting is not main road out of poverty. Unlike US or Mexico. Sorry. Somewhat ppl had lived without prizefighting and didn't had died without this income source. Ukraine isn't Thailand for sure.
Or is Usyk lulling everyone into a false sense of security with his affable personality. It worked a treat for Ruiz jnr.
Usyk Took a dive Never healed from an arm injury 5 years ago What other preemptive excuses have their own threads on this board so far?
Remind me, who was the last fighter that faced Joshua and played the 'I wanna be friends' nice guy act pre-bout?
Kovalev Canelo was an obvious fix as it gets.. Not really debateable.. That said I think Usyk has a lot more respect for himself not to he paid for a sparring session/dive unlike that drunkard Kovalev
Come on man, at least post the whole thing. This is after they have chosen gloves. Here is the whole video: This content is protected
An Olympic gold medalist and ATG cruiserweight who has been talking about being heavyweight champ for years is going to take a dive against a guy who is demonstrably beatable? What?
The rumoured purse split means Usyk is getting less than the 25% as mandatory WBO challenger. Shouldn't he be getting paid more to take a dive? They are paying him less than WBO rules AND there is a rumoured rematch clause. So I do wonder what is in the contract... I suspect if they were to rig the fight with Usyk's blessing it would be a draw, and a rematch. But this is just a pie-in-the-sky conspiracy theory.
