UD points win for AJ. I've never had any doubt that AJ will win this and win fairly comfortably, I was at first leaning towards a late TKO but am now going with a points win, I would say a 8-4 type of fight. I do think (unfortunately) it will not be a great or particularly memorable fight. AJ will adopt a 'safety first' approach in the knowledge that as the champion, fighting on home soil, on a Matchroom show, and as the divisions golden boy he can win by just doing enough here and will likely get the nod in the closer rounds, I think that's that's the approach he will take. I don't see him looking for a KO, or taking risks to get one. Even if he beats Usyk in a cagey fight, as long as he does genuinely beat him even if it is close I hope he gets the credit he deserves.
Always favoured Joshua for the stoppage and probably still do. I don’t care what anyone says Bellew had very decent success against Usyk and was arguably winning or level when he got stopped. I buy he was sussing Bellew our to a certain extent but not to the level that was going on. Usyk’s constant pressure had worn Bellew out and he was in complete control at that point but even Little, slow Derrick was landing stuff on him. I just don’t think Usyk is quite the same anymore and I really do think size will play a part in this. I can see Joshua holding centre of the ring and boxing smart he knows he’s vulnerable and will not risk Fury pay day. I honestly don’t think Usyk has looked athletic enough at this weight to get in and out against the bigger, cautious longer Reached man. I think his best chance will be walking Joshua in to something which he’s well capable of and then going for the kill Maybe. As the fight nears I am now starting to wonder what happens if Joshua gets tired late. I’ve already got money on Usyk 7-12. I can see absolutely any eventuality. My prediction is someone’s getting stopped in the last 4. Great fight.
Respect to Usyk, what a performance! Pleasure to watch tonight I said if he takes any of the 1st 4 rounds Joshua would be in trouble, and he did it. I was surprised the commentators were expecting Usyk to tire out - have they not watched him before?? Only one man was tiring in the 11th and 12th, and he was saved by a bell that rang 5 seconds early!
People have to make predictions though and in top level fights like this people will get them wrong. It’s unfair to ridicule people for making calls on these fights. I do think it’s reasonable to call out the likes of @bandeedo though. He was not only completely wrong about this fight but, as usual, totally arrogant and dismissive of other people’s opinions.
Speaking of clowns——Where is @Ty is That Guy I guess he took his own advice and ran away to avoid looking like such an aze clown
The most surprising thing about this fight is that they didn’t rob Usyk blind. Only one judge had a bizarre card of 115-113 to Usyk but the other two were actually good enough.
Yep - even though it’s just a forum he comes across as a fairly nasty piece of work. Takes it far too seriously.
Check page 1 of the RBR thread of the Brit Forum mate. No point cherry picking from posts - many experts and even the Bookmakers got this wrong. My post on page 1 was my final gut feeling - one thing I did post a number of times well in ADVANCE of the fight on many threads was this was only Joshua's 2nd real test. Always been a fan of Usyk and always rated him highly. Now go and search for me posting any different.
