I actually don’t think AJ is overrated. Out of all the current champs and ex champs in the division he is the most proven. I think he is just representative of where the division is at now a days, mostly big lumbering giants. He just happens to be the quickest and most skilled of the giants. In general I always find the guys in the lower weights are more skilled but it’s always the intrigue if the skills will overcome height, weight and power differentials. Usyk just proved he had the skills to overcome AJ’s physical advantages. I’m still not sure how a Fury fight would play out, but I’m also not convinced Fury would fight him.

Why does Bellew seem more depressed when AJ loses than when he lost? Lol.

I had it 8-3-1 Usyk. It was a masterclass that will go down as one of the greatest performances in the modern era. I was fearful the judges would rob Usyk and the 115-113 card is a robbery, but they got it right.

Maybe we can get a petition started for DAZN to replace Mora with Jones. Even after all this time and all the experience Sergio has from the last couple years Roy is still better by a country mile! Roy still got it!

Question : Sounds like AJ was getting hit near at will. We know how mentally collapsing it can be to have a more skilled fighter with the stamina advantage to boot piecing you up and you have no answers... it can make fighters implode.

Did AJ show heart in the championship rounds, always trying to win? Or did he give up a bit and come apart.

Not sure when DAZN will upload it for me to watch myself, so just curious.

I agree. Usyk make give Wilder some trouble but Wilder will connect, and Usyk's chin despite good, didn't seem to be titanium steel.

As I've been saying for ages on this:-
    Styles Make Fights.

Usyk is one of the worst possible matchups for Joshua.

I actually give Joshua some credit even in defeat, because he showed me some stuff that I called him on and answered them to an extent:-
    • Mental strength - you could see in round 4 he was looking bamboozled and he KNEW Usyk was better than him; but he dit down and tried his damndest and managed to nick a couple of rounds (5/6)
    • Gastank - for all the crap I (and others) have given him about his gastank, Usyk pushed a tremendous pace in this fight - and sure, AJ was exhasuted in the 12th, and just about went - but I though that might happen in 8/9/10 - and it didn't his stamina was better than I expected.
Many folks saying that AJ was too passive etc - but how much of that was Usyk? His start was BLISTERING, he had AJ immeditaely on the back foot and his feints and footwork was in full effect; his accuracsy was top drawe, and I think it was Usyk that made AJ passive.

Last words of the night for me.

Fair play to Joshua for daring to be great. He could have relinquished the belt but he strives for that undisputed. Now it will never come. Hats off to him for trying.

Usyk is a top quality boxer. I hope Fury comes through wilder again (easy enough) and then we get the undisputed between unarguably the two best in the division.

It was always going to be a Usyk win!!

    The man is class.

I posted years ago when i stated it was too early for joshua and world titles etc.

His climb to the top was rushed, but that is how it is sadly.

I admire Joshua but it was too much too soon for the guy as a fighter, and that is what is ruining the sport...

Sure he has made a fortune, but that is all he will be remembered for, making money....

You can make money and be a great fighter if you put money aside.

He’s always been very normal he just needs the right opponents to prove it and most of the heavyweights are Terrible

Absolutely. I think AJ has definitely become a much more well rounded fighter since Ruiz but his vulnerabilities make Wilder an interesting fight.

Dont mind AJ, but made up Usyk won and got the deserved decision. Even the sky team werent trying to make a cas for AJ winning, though it did my head in the way they kept going on about Usyk tiring late. Unless ive been watching a different Usyk he never tires late and if anything comes on stronger

Macklin tried his best during the mid rounds.. he gets a lot of stick on here but I felt Adam Smith was very fair and impartial throughout.
