What could AJ have done though? If he came forward he would have been nailed with the straight over and over again, he was just destroyed, there is no adjustments he can make.

I personally think that reflects more on how good Usyk is, than how poor AJ was - Usyks, movement, footwork, feints - subtle catches and parries were a joy to behold.

There was a point just after the 4th round where AJ looked like a rabit in the headlights. Usyk is a handful for anyone - perfect blend of cerebral and physical gifts - his engine is INSANE - maybe evn better than Zaggers! Joshua caught him a couple of solid body shots in 6/8 I think, but Usyk was still going like the Duracell Bunny in round 12 - AJ could not fight at the pace Usyk set for 12 rounds - simple as that. And been saying it for ages! Hehe

They actually called it very fairly I thought, there were lots of Jabs and little shots from Usyk which were landing which bias commentary often ignores - they were all being pointed out.

It's really fight by fight. The thing with Chisora is that he is a totally different fighter than AJ. Usyk looked amazing really.. masterclass performance. Took AJ best shots, totally limited him and as he mentioned after the fight : completely followed his game plan which did not include a Knock out and he never went for one. He had plenty of opportunities though. Can't really remember who looked very good against Chisora actually :D

They mentioned something about checking out his eye socket; it was pretty badly swollen by the end.

    I wanna reinforce.
AJ was not poor. He would have beaten everyone bar Fury and Usyk, he was just too slow for Usyk.
Usyk was always one step ahead, his tried different tactics in different rounds but he always got nailed by Usyk, he tried coming forward around round 8 or 9 and that was one of Usyk's best rounds. There is nothing AJ can do.
It's not the Ruiz fight where AJ got cocky and thought he was invincible, he was outclassed, you could see by his reaction, he knew he was beaten by a man he can never beat. He knew that Usyk is just better than him. That's why he stormed out of the ring, he couldn't bear to look at anyone.

    They prefer Joshua over Usyk.

Their rankings are Wilder, Joshua, Hunter

Wilder is a fraud exposed, Joshua was overhyped, the only legitimate fighter there is Hunter who could probably beat both.

True. I think overall the commentary team was as good as it could be. Smith genuinely impressed me with how impartial he was.

Just seen a clip on IG btw, the timekeeper rang the bell five seconds early in that final round.

There are always adjustments to be made. But doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result is the definition of insanity.

So get a trainer who can teach him to defend himself better. Steward did it for Lennox and Wlad. Again, it might not work if he's outclassed by his opponent, but he could change his own style to better suit his physical advantages.
