David Haye is an absolute clown these days. He's full of ****. I remember he said Wilder is the most dangerous HW on the planet.
I hope Haye looks back at his "toegate" attempt against Wlad, then compares it to Usyk last night and it haunts him for the rest of his life on what might have been if he has simply been as fearless as Usyk was. For all the deserved props to Usyk on his performance, the thing that gets me is his fearlessness and innate self-belief. Truly a wondrous thing.
I actually really liked him as a fighter and was considering myself a FAN back then. But yeah...he's an attention seeking clown these days.
The worst version of his take was some interview he did after his exhibition, don't exactly have the link written down but he started off saying Usyk has essentially nothing to bring to challenge Joshua, played off Usyk's boxing as an ineffective joke, and suggested he'll knock him out easy, he's 'seen' him take Usyk out with a jab. Made a big (repetitive) list of all the things AJ has over Usyk including most bizarrely the better chin. He was also obviously pretty egregious in the Bellew commentary: Bellew slightly outlands Usyk in an inactive early round, 'Bellew dominated every second! Usyk is supposed to be this great boxer and Bellew is completely outboxing him!'. Hate to see him have so little respect for such an immense talent and fellow cruiserweight. Especially given that Usyk himself said he thinks Haye was the best Cruiserweight in history after Holyfield talking to him.
Nice to see Chisora's come around. He sounded a bit deluded before going on about being 'robbed' versus Usyk, and his immediate reaction to this fight was 'a draw would have been fairer', seems he came to his senses eventually. Not sure why he'd be upset anyway, he nicked about as many rounds as Joshua did and made it look less comfortable: a resumé boost for him.
Haye's problem is he has a hard time realizing that Usyk is everything and more than Haye has ever proclaimed himself to be.
