Joshua gave a great effort, he just doesn't have the dog in him a great fighter needs to overcome that kind of adversity. Usyks skills were on full display and Joshua remained dangerous for much of the fight
Usyk is a great boxer and I did say he was by far the best boxer AJ has faced. However AJ’s tactics did him no favours nor the advice from McCraken.
I am not upset because I respect Usyk’s technical ability as a boxer. Also when he got hit he showed more heart than Lomachenko did against Teofimo Lopez.
Hes not a fraud he just lost to an ATG who is also the best fighter in the game no shame in that. A fraud wouldnt even risk getting in the ring with Usyk and would wait for Fury and the massive payday that would come with it.
Usyk pitty patted for 12 rounds but at least he did something. Joshua threw jabs short of the target all night and he's the guy with longer reach. And what happened to his right hand. Broken shoulder ? You don't try a jabbing contest with a guy like Usyk. If Joshua can't figure out how to be aggressive without getting clocked, he's done.
Joshua got beat last night but he didn't necessarily get found out. Can he take a massive punch after Ruiz? Can he box clever after that technical greatness from Usyk? I think the rematch will have much more to say as to where Joshua ranks in the heavyweights. I'm not writing him off, he's still a top contender if he performs and ups his game next fight.
He's definitely a sell, and has been overrated, but a fraud is a big overstatement. He is clearly still top 5 in the division at the least, and has a relatively strong (if overexaggerated) resumé. The fact he could nick some rounds from Usyk is a merit.
Fraud or not even if he never enters the squared circle ever again, he will go down in annals of boxing history as a Heavyweight Champion of the world, and has a bank balance that assures him of a very comfortable life, damn i wish i was that much of a fraud.
