Joshua is not going to "grow". He has reached the peak of his ability and has done incredibly well but he is not up to the standard of Usyk, Fury or even Wilder.

People hated the kbros but Joshua needs to do what Wlad did and learn how to jab and clinch.

Yep it all comes across as quite stale when I listen to him in the corner. The advice he gives him feels very generic. Obviously my favourite fighter is Calzaghe, but I remember times where Enzo used to really gee him up in the corner when he needed to hear it (12th vs Hopkins for example), and I felt AJ really needed to hear that last night. Instead I heard Rob saying "stay behind the jab" in the 11th round when AJ was massively behind - not the right advice at all! Needs a change of trainer for sure

    Yeah I agree.

You're actually spot on, it is all very generic.

Maybe it's his involvement in amateur scene that's killing him as a pro trainer, it's sort of basic advice you give amateurs..

Maybe he is sort of stuck between pro and am, he sometimes or maybe most of the time dishes out the advice he would give to an amateur in a similar situation.

There doesn't seem to be any creative advice, he doesn't seem to spot little adjustments AJ may need to make, it's just "stick behind the jab" and "one two's".

There's nothing wrong with McCracken.. Joshua just needs another 10 years of experience to catch up to Usyk

Good points.. Rob is great at teaching the fundamentals , he just can't teach the special effects of the pro game

    Yeah I agree.

When you just listen to him.. It's just a little too much amateur advice in that corner.

And he does work with team GB, he works with them a lot, maybe it's just bleeding in to his corner work with AJ.

I knew very little about Usyk 5 years ago. A lot has happened since then to change my opinion of him
