It’s not over yet. He has a good 4 years left.

I think he's very good and much improved but he's not going to get to the level of an Usyk or a Fury - two guys who've boxed from a younger age.

I think Wilder could knock AJ out too but it's a cracking fight and AJ could land first.

For a man who started boxing older than most, AJ has had a great career. He's had huge backing from Sky sports but delivered for them more often than not. He has some more good wins in him but I think his claim as 'The Man' is gone now forever.

True but I can’t see him improving. If anything he’s going backwards.

Nobody said that it was, but hyping these wins up as much as the fanboys do is becoming a good joke.

    Much improved since when?

Agree. There's no way AJ is slick enough to avoid the bombs of Wilder I mean Tyson Fury is clearly the best at HW and even he couldn't avoid them and he's miles slicker and craftier than the upright, one dimensional AJ.

It's Fury, Usyk and then Wilder a slightly distant 3rd and then AJ at 4th in H2H matchups not necessarily achievements I'd still put AJ at 3rd.

A good to very good fighter who has been matched very well and at right times but nowhere near elite

He is good, in this era very good, Lennox Lewis would have murdered him and so would have many others in the 90's.

Forward wind a bit and a prime Wlad would have smashed him, prime Vitali would have smashed him.

Forward wind some more, he isn't the best heavyweight in this era, I rate a few above him.

He just has size and athleticism, his power isn't what some people believe it is..

Meanwhile in February 1989, Bruno went up against some guy called Mike Tyson.

I've always thought that there's lots of interesting parallels between Fury & Joshua, with Lewis & Bruno.

Fury is this generation's Lewis; largely shunned by the British mainstream, went on to have big fights in the US, and prevailed / will prevail as this generation's top dog. (Not saying Fury = Lewis in terms of legacy, he's not there yet)

Joshua is this generation's Bruno; adored and backed by the British public and media, but came up short at the highest level. Although in fairness, skill and legacy-wise Joshua > Bruno

It might be worth mentioning that this was the shot version of Michael Sprott.

Takes two Joshua rights, backs up to the ropes
Holds up a high guard and abandons all hope
Open his face is a considerable frown
But lo and behold, Sprott does not go down
The Sky Sports hype machine is in full effect
So upon video's title, one must reflect:
    "90 SECOND KO! DEMOLITION COMPLETE!"
But Sprott never touched down; he was stopped on his feet

there have always been questions about him, I personally thought he'd be the Real Deal - he won't.
Fury too, is much improved but not 1st Class either.

so you got a 'lesser' Bruno & Lewis or is it more an Audley and Haye?

Hahahaha it's just sickening the way they speak bout AJ.. "The jab of Larry Holmes, the left hook of Frazier, The power of Tyson, the agility of Ali....". And so on and so on.

I don't remember AJ ending a fight with one shot.. like a prime Tyson would or like Wilder can do.

I don't know if it was you or someone else who mentioned this on another thread. He laid Whyte out with one shot, and that was only after he hurt Whyte and put it on him for 30 seconds. Beyond that, I'm struggling to think of any others.

I think quite a few people were taken in when Auds knocked out Danny Williams in their rematch and claimed he'd go on to become Undisputed Heavyweight Champion. I know I was.
