A purely logical argument for why Wilder is better than AJ

    Many will still claim that AJ would beat Wilder if they were to fight due to his superior skills, disregard the fact that Usyk's straight left's were putting AJ on wobbly legs on multiple occasions and disregard that Wilder was able to land three right hand's in the first two rounds of the rematch against a bigger, more durable, more athletic, more defensively skilled Fury.

    Let's accept for the sake of argument that AJ wouldn't get hit by Wilder while Wilder was still in the fight (7 rounds for Breazeale, 10 rounds BS stoppage for old Takam, 9 rounds old inactive Pulev etc.) and that AJ could take Wilder's power if he did. Let's ask a different question: if AJ and Wilder both fought the top 10 or 20 ATG HW's of all time (I don't care about your lists) who do you think would win more fights? The longer, faster, tougher, more tenacious ATG puncher with less skill and co-ordination? Or the better balanced and more skilled HW with a weak chin, poor gas tank, lack of heart, lack of confidence and much lighter punch?

    Even if you believe that Wilder and AJ are both weak HW champions who would tend to be outclassed by strong champions, who is the more dangerous and better at elite level? Power, range and speed are great equalisers, so the answer is surely Wilder.

    You put "better" in the title and "dangerous" in the question. Its almost like you typed this so fast even you didn't know what you were trying to ask.

    He didn't land them, or Fury who was dropped by Cunningham, would have dropped. They were partial because Wilders boxing is gobshite and he didn't set them up properly. Wilder even admits this himself saying he only needs to be perfect for two seconds.

    That concept works well when he was losing every single round to forty plus year old Ortiz, who is slow enough that Wilder will eventually land the right hand on, not so much against someone like Fury or Joshua.

    You asked "if AJ and Wilder both fought the top 10 or 20 ATG HW's of all time" why... you need only look at who they have fought now.

    AJ, for better or worse, has fought a better list of fighters than Wilder and won the majority of them. Wilder hasn't fought the same quality so far as AJ.

    As for the hypothetical top ten ATG, they all should spark both Wilder and Joshua out. This is what makes them top ten of all time. I doubt anyone will ever have either Wilder or Joshua as a top ten HW of all time.

    Wilder will always be the most dangerous puncher, not boxer. Joshua will always be the superior boxer, not puncher and Fury would eat both thier souls.

    Joshua is much more dangerous. Wilder has one punch, and even guys like Molina and Szpilka can evade it for 8-10 rounds. AJ has a good arsenal.

    How many ****ing times do we have to play the youtube videos of Wilder with a guy pinned up against the ropes, flailing away unanswered, hitting only air like a giant windmill?

    It's hard to say what's left of Wilder now, or what will be left after another hiding from Fury.

    But, when this matchup was a pressing issue a few years back, Wilder (T)KO struck me as the likeliest outcome. Still does. Each can find the other, but Wilder is more likely to survive a bomb and abide an assault from Joshua than the other way around. Joshua is the tidier boxer, but not cute enough to evade the long, fast right hand of Wilder all night. Fight probably wouldn't have gone six.

    These numbskulls want to convince people that AJ has both the ability and the temperament to go on the aggressive against the most explosive puncher in HW history, as well as the speed, active defense and chin to mitigate the right hand and the power to take him out before he gets taken out, when AJ has proven he needs 7 rounds to dispose of a stationary tower with poor defence in Breazeale among other mediocrities. The same AJ who was biting on all of Usyk's feints, who got rocked multiple times by his left and never once really went for Usyk in 12 rounds while getting schooled!

    Fortunately for AJ, Hearn had more sense back then.

    I can't fault a word. Always thought it was very obvious that Hearn was negotiating his boy out of harm's way with the stupid demands on Wilder to move over to DAZN for multiple fights.

    So bums like molina, stiverne, duhaupas, szpilka , Arreola, ancient ortiz went past 7 with Windmill , but I see “experts” here state that Wilder beats AJ in first half of the fight. Yea it def makes sense.

    Would have been a hell of a fight between 2 middle of the road all time champs. One could even say legacy defining for the winner, but as they chose not to fight they both look likely to go down as footnotes when the greats are discussed
