Good but not as stacked as the 90's Certainly the best era i have seen since the 90's The Klit brothers took all the excitement out of boxing, especially Wladamir with his endless clinching and leaning, and the referees somehow pretending that leaning and pushing your opponents excessively is ok. The Brits (Fury and Joshua) and the Eastern Europeans have breathed life back into boxing. Its not a outstanding era yet because you have guys like Parker still in the top 10. However, with up and coming guys like Hrgovic and Jalalov, Fury, Usyk, Joshua, Joyce, Ruiz (wish he lost 50 pounds), and even Wilder (not a good boxer but certainly makes game exciting with his power), its a very good era. Not as good as the 90's though. The early 90's had Holyfield, Lewis, Bowe, Moorer, Ruddock, old Foreman, Mercer, Morrison and 2 years of Tyson. Mid to late 90's had Lewis, older Holyfield, Tua, Ibeaubuchi, up and coming Byrd, Briggs etc. There is a huge difference in the 90's when you compare the first half of the decade (90-95) to the last 4 years. The first 6 years were much better in terms of quality of fighters. Perhaps the current era is comparable to the late 90's but the early to mid 90's were significantly bigger.

Its OK. The talent is there, but the problems are: 1) Multiple champs mean guys don't fight each other. 2) Covid means guys don't fight each other. 3) Meaningless mandatory status (Whyte!) mean guys don't fight each other 4) "Wrong guy won" rematch clauses mean the same guys fight each other 5) Screwjobs mean good fighters don't progress to fight each other 6) Promoters keep retreading their own guys, even after multiple losses, meaning young guys don't get a chance to fight each other. A lot of these problems will be with us until some of these organizations go out of business, but for Christ's sake, let's phase out Parker, Chisora, Ortiz, Pulev, Arreola, maybe Whyte and Ruiz after their next losses, and give the following fighters a chance: Gassiev Wallin Hunter Hrgovic Yoko Sirenko Ajagba Sanchez Jalalov Mahkmudov Anderson Kossibuyskiy Dychko (best y'all forgot he existed)
It's okay but I think many fighters don't have opportunities to show their skills and power at the highest level. Like Hrgovic, Makhmudov, Dychko It would be fun to have WBSS in HW division. This content is protected
At best it's OK leaning towards terrible. It's a more exciting era than the last one as we don't have such an utterly dominant champion who was head and shoulder above everyone else, so we have more competitive fights. Also the emergence of a real cash cow who's been able to appeal outside of the hardcore fan base and bringing more attention to the division is a positive. But there are clearly issues with this era. The top guy in Fury was suspended for 2 years and fought rarely and been tied to a pointless 3 fights with Wilder despite winning the first 2 fights in everyone's eyes. Wilder too has been an awful addition to the division, holding the WBC title, avoiding tough fights, not being made to face mandatories. The further proliferation of titles hasn't helped either it was bad enough when there was 3 and then 4 major titles now the WBA alone have 3 world champions with their super, regular, interim BS. As for the quality, we clearly have 2 top heavies in Fury and Usyk right now. But thing is Fury rarely fights and Usyk has only had a few fights at heavyweight and probably only has a couple of years left in him as he's already 34, nearly 35. The next top 2 in AJ and Wilder we're late starters and this shows, especially with Wilder. But they despite this have been able to rise to near the top, it's like Michael Grant becoming a long time title holder during his time. A lot of talent that used to go to heavyweight is going to other sports I suspect and so the quality has suffered.
It's terrible because of bodybuilder and street fighter. These two blacks ruined the division. It's also very good thanks to Fury and Usyk. These two are highly skilled, talented and naturally funny guys.
